Lol, you're not wrong. I feel I'd have been more effective had I been afk for my matches despite the kind words. I guess I'm not the strategic thinker I like to think I am afterall. I guess I'm best at FPS afterall.

Had my first online match with Matt and I had him under 100 tickets whilst I had over 400 still, was encouraging even though he turned it around after that and beat me (I think he may be been being kind to me at the start). However all the matches I have had since have been proper spankings...

So long as I pull out a victory against Bob I'll be happy :)

tbh you shouldn't read too much into final ticket counts, even though the games we've been playing have focused on them. When you watch expert replays and shoutcasts of expert games ticket counts are very rarely referenced, as games tend to be conceded a lot sooner than tickets run out. When you're opponent has had the time to cap all 3 VPs, then that's an indication that you're being dominated slightly, but the best way to gauge how well you did after a defeat is to consider how long it was until you felt you were running into a brick wall at every turn.

Of course you can't completely ignore tickets, but generally speaking a game is won long before tickets really become a deciding factor.

Another match tonight between me and streff, and I'm glad we played it when we did because Streff's round as the US was the hardest I've had against him so far. It was a much tougher fight than the score suggests, with him narrowly missing out on taking the VP advantage on two seperate occasions, because of some last ditch defending on my part.

First game Alzir (Wehrmacht) win with 500 tickets left to nil.
Second game Alzir (US) HQ win with 500 tickets left to Streff's 60.

Doc's posted it in the wrong thread, but there was also one round of a match between him and Anobiz, with Ano bravely playing his first ever 1v1 as a match :)

Stalker and me played the first round of our game, and unfortunately for him I played a blinder.

Alzir (Wehrmacht) win with 500 tickets left to Stalker's (US) 0.

We're into our last week of this btw, so need to get a few more of the games played.

Ahh well sure jump on if you get a chance Jonny, we're all about most nights and I'm always free for a game, given that BC2 is off the agenda for me :(
