Trying to remember a book series from years ago.

Basically all I can remember was that it was a series and I think the first one had a wizard(yes i know) and a warrior lookimg for some stone egg that could make everything turn into stone and move mountains shit like that!!! also I remember different coloured bottles that with a ring you could enter (bit like the tardis) Also I remember some sort of flashing sun type object that could speak. It flew around generally being annoying..
I'm tearing my hair out!!!

Actually found all these books in my loft, gave them another read and found them as funny as the first time I read them.
Unfortunately you can't get them on the internet as far as I've seen.
