Hi guys thx for the advice. I’ve already tried the ram/pagefile issue but to no avail anyway I’ll crack on with it my cooling system is coming today so I will try that before I try anything, If that fails I will put the XP on my scsi chain instead of the sata and see if this helps with access.

I’ll give a proper perf monitor a go although it won’t be until tonight, the PF seems to be ok as I checked that when I did a exhustive test on the memory. Weird thing is is that it’s only just started doing it recently haven’t put anything on it. And it always seems to affect BF2 more than anything else although GUN gfx when entering towns takes a while when it didn’t used to. Humm anyway I’ll tel you the results at a later date. thanks for the recommendations.
p.s the mcse was in NT4 so I think it’s outta date by now..
