Hold them back to protect them, or move them forward for additional firepower on the battlefield? Discuss.
October 11, 2006 at 11:54 am #35476AnonymousParticipantMove them forwards – always.
No mater where you park it, it will always be discovered and assaulted, so you may as well make use of it as a weapon; the turrets can be quite effective for protecting/assaulting flags 🙂
October 11, 2006 at 12:04 pm #35477DeicistParticipantYeah, that’s my view too… I got voted off as commander last night though for moving the Titan forward. Noobs.
October 11, 2006 at 12:22 pm #35478TurksMeisterParticipantWouldnt the rockets get there faster though… so you have less time to cap the points and re align the missiles?

Once the rocket’s in the air it doesn’t matter how quickly you capture the point, it’s still going to hit your Titan.
October 11, 2006 at 12:53 pm #35480WipersParticipantI thoroughly recommend bringing it forward & pouring death and destruction on the hoards battling round the silos beneath you. It has awesome firepower so why not use it…

Not so… if you take a point where a rocket has just fired from, you get another progress bar labelled “Redirecting missile”… I presule that does exactly what it says on the tin…

hmm…. really? I thought once they were in flight they went were they were aimed.
October 11, 2006 at 9:53 pm #35483AnonymousParticipantThey do go where they are aimed, it’s just redirecting the next rocket at the other titan.
October 11, 2006 at 10:23 pm #35484TurksMeisterParticipantbollocks
or so i think anywhoo
October 12, 2006 at 7:01 am #35485XDCiNSANEParticipantIf your the holder of the said Silo.. why on earth would it be redirtecting to fire at the other titan (Which in theory would be your own)? I assumed as you had the silo.. it would fire again at the enemy titan?

what? I think you misunderstand…..
if (for example) the PAC have a silo that’s just fired a missile and the EU take the silo while the Missile is in flight does the missile get redirected to the PAC Titan or carry on to the EU Titan? Turks thinks it gets redirected to the PAC Titan. I think that sounds a bit silly and it carries on to it’s original target.
October 12, 2006 at 8:28 am #35487XDCiNSANEParticipantI would hazzard a guess it goes to its original target, and the redirecting part is that of when new doods have just captured it, it redirects to the just taken silo teams enemy Titan??? Hence the redirecting icon on screen…
October 12, 2006 at 8:40 am #35488crazy hippoParticipantbest tactic is to centralise the titan. place it so that its fairly equidistant to all silos. this way you have a permanant central spawn point, the ability to bombard the silos and the titan has an escape pod system that can allow you to pod out to decent distances quickly.
the time it takes to re-align the silos is always the same so no advantage is gained by having the titan further away.
if you are losing or it looks like your shields will go down first then move it to the back of the field as it slows up the enemy from boarding it
