Yea I was playing with it to test whether that would happen or not. Was hoping it would encourage people just to fight until it’s 2v2.
Well thinking about what happened it may be working correctly. as when the map (ctf_well2) loaded up we had 9 – 10 players on the server and I was able to take the intel until i got shot and killed.
then one of the teams only had 3 ppl on it and neither we or them could take it.
so 4 means that 4 ppl must be present on each team.
so may be 2 is a better option so that there must be 4 or more ppl on the server to allow the intel to be capped
//values (0,UPTOMAXPLAYERS) bm_MinimumPlayersToPickupFlagRequired 4 requires 4 ppl in server to allow people to hold onto flag
so that’s 2v2 to my understanding.
The fact is though that it wasn’t helping get the server going, so maybe just as well leaving it turned off.
the fact is 2fort/CTF maps are dull as fuck and getting the server full on those maps is like pulling teeth. Change the map to a crowd puller and change the map to 2fort if you want with a full server.
Yea Paddy said he didn’t like 2fort either, which surprised me because I’ve always loved it, but then it is a solider’s map so that’s maybe why. I always thought it was a crowd puller as well, but what other map were you thinking? The ones with setup phases are pretty annoying when there’s only a couple of you on the server (maybe well’s an exception), hyrdo doesn’t really work either unless you don’t bother capping, custom maps don’t work (unless you know of a really popular one), but granary might be ok?
Can’t wait to get some TF2 play in again once I’m in my own pad end of the wk (+wait for net setup). Keep getting dirty looks at the moment from my mates gf as I sit in the living room shooting up people online.
2fort is okay, but it can be very negative as mostly both sides just sit back and defend
Granary and Well I think is the 2 best maps and always bring people in.
I think we’ve done well recently, been on a few times now where we’ve only been about 4-6 and within 20mins the server is full and stays that way for hours. Also beginning to notice some regulars, especially a few with crazy clan tags
Yep the TF2 server is doing well, getting plenty of business. 🙂
been full since friday i think and most evenings last week
Yea it’s been good to see recently, some regulars are even making it as far as the forums 😀
