ParticipantIm using TS 2, which works great…..but im struggling to recognise whos talking as i cant get the overlay thing to work.
I,ve tried opening TS first then the overlay and visa versa, but i still cant see whos talking…which is soo frustrating as im a newbie to all this. 🙄
Are there any other settings i should be inputting, apart from my nickname?

ParticipantI just heard about the overlay last night and I’m going to try it on ArmA when I get home later.

ParticipantI tried the overlay last night with zero success. Like you, I tried it before and after loading TS. I also tried it with mulitple games and with the “alternative DirectX method” ticked and unticked. 😕

ParticipantOK I have it working now.
It doesn’t like Fraps. It doesn’t like the ATI Tray Tool fps counter. It doesn’t like anything. I’ve got a feeling that it required my webcam’s system-tray utility to be shutdown.
Shut that stuff down
Run TS
Login to a TS server
Start overlay
Ensure the Overlay name is the same as the one you used on the server in TS
Load gameThe overlay itself is a semi-transparent couple of lines telling you what channel you’re in and listing anyone who’s talking. I like it a lot. Unobtrusive and totally cool.
I have read that PunkBuster doesn’t like it so be careful out there…

ParticipantPerhaps try ticking “alternate directx method”.
You did ‘enable’ it, right?

Participantif you can get it working its a fantastic peice of software, i have used it in eve for about a year as when you have 200 people in a chat room it can get very confusing as to whos talking.
the only downside i have found is that computer performance takes a slight hit but nothing major
