gold farmers are effectively gaming sweatshop employees who happen to more often than not be chinese. all they do is grind areas for resources and loot and they usually work in shift patterns so an account is active for 24 hours a day. the items and money that they make in game are sold for real cash.

I mentioned on another thread – these games are jobs in some countries. Obviously no-one believed me!

Chinese farmers are internet rooms in China where people work 12 hour shifts killing thousands and thousands of pretend chickens to amass thousands of thousands of pretend gold. You can then buy it off them for real money on ebay and places like that. Then when you’ve spent 20 quid on the game, another 100 quid or so on subscription fees over 12 months and another 30 or 40 quid to buy pretend gold on your flash new pretend armour (which will be f*cking purple or something ridiculous on WoW) you suddenly realise that you’ve wasted a significant chunk of your life and money on something totally without any reason or logic behind it – a bit like going out with Antonia, one of my ex’s then.
