metal storm goes way beyond mere handguns, there is a system in development which will be able to fend off armoured companies singlehandedly,acting as a type of mortar the metal storm system will be able to track multiple targets and coordinate an area strike similar in layout to the mlrs system whcih can take out an entire map grid. Although the system does not have the same firepower as the mlrs it would allow for far greater flexibility, both in deployment and usage. Considering that the platform for such a system is roughly hoped to be man portable, or at least team portable, the amount of firepower that these could place at the disposal of infantry units is truly mind boggling!
Thx for the goodwill folks unfortunatly I didn’t pass the mat (mental aptitude test), I did fine on the numerical and verbal reasoning but the abstract reasoning got me, so if the country is ever invaded by viscious marauding triangles and semi circles you know who not to call! Not all bad news though apparently I am officer material just need a few more months work, then start all over again and hopefully do better!

@soia yeah the historical accuracy in these games could be likened to historical travesties like braveheart, or the equivalent of dragging nails down a blackboard for any history buffs. Hopefully it won’t be long until the realism mods start getting going, and the arhcery thing is also very irritating, as is the situations where you order a charge and only the front 2 ranks move leaving the rest scratching their arses and placing bets. Personally my biggest problem is when the pope threatens you with excommunication if you attack a certain faction, but leaves that faction free to attack you over and over and over
But these “small” 😛 problems aside all in all i’m quite happy with it, or at least prepared to wait for the mods 😀
Turks- its online and going strong, they just had their 9th anniversary, sure the fx are nothing compared to wow, but its the gameplay that keeps it going, plus they are revamping the whole thing with an improved engine pretty soon which should keepit going at least another 9 years 😀 (if your still interested i believe you can get a month free trial via gamespot)
