I just made a poll thread in General Gaming. early results indicate 100% of respondents play ArmA. I think that’s pretty conclusive.

    😆

    14 pages, 200 posts!

There’s lots I want to talk about that doesn’t fit in the thread.

Maybe there should be a poll?

I just heard about the overlay last night and I’m going to try it on ArmA when I get home later.

The thread is too ungainly, which is why it died. It was like a badly-made fire which burned too hot and used up its oxygen. 🙂

My hands are too big for those fancy mice so I just have a Micro$oft 3-button thing with a magic red light under it! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

At work, I have the same with 5-buttons. I had to install the mouse software just to disable the 4th and 5th buttons 😡 which I pressed every two seconds by accident.

That work PC came with a fancy keyboard, too and that’s pissing me off: now if I drop a hard-drive or a cup of tea on it, I get Excel or Calc coming up grrr.

    My work here is done.

    -Fenix out.

Half a day’s playing and not one single crash! hurrah! And lots of good team games, too 🙂

I got to get Fraps installed so I can take screenies. Just been in a convoy behind a guy in a stolen truck which had 5-7 enemy corpses in the back, one draped over the mounted gun and another in the cab. Quite a dramatic get-up if taken into account with the scorches and pockmarks… We were talking about selling it on eBay as a ‘Used’ item. That was a couple of minutes before I threw a nade at a guy I was supposed to be saluting and killed our whole team. It was so funny, I choked.

Earlier, spent time on a big mission centred on the capture of Ortego, a town I hadn’t ‘visited’ before. It’s a lovely place. There were some ace helo pilots on, ferrying respawners to LZ’s and jump zones which we’d planned. They were also taking out vehicles with rockets and dropping snipres etc onto rooftops with pinpoint accuracy. When I was wounded, rascal came and picke dme up from the top of the citadel and arranged for me to hook up with a medic. It was class!

Also played some of the ‘Hold’ games that nOm likes so much. They’re v cool. I was a bit daunted by the scale of it all… You know in BF, you attack a flag, sit there for a minute and it’s yours. In Hold, the flags might be in a town centre: you’ve got ot fight your way in amongst the streets and houses, gradually closing in on the objective. If you get it, you have to decide whether to dig-in and defend or continue the sweep onwards. At one point, I was nearly cornered but had just enough time to rpg a wall and escape through the hole I made before the infantry and tank closed in on me. This game rocks!

In other news, Magicker has graciously agreed to create an Armed Assault area in the forum.

It was the arcadeyness of ID games that tricked me into thinking EA knew a thing about realism. After watching various trailers, I’m not expecting to like it but will try any demo that comes forth.

This exactly describes my system and my experience.
Anything with a decent codec is fine by me.

    1. Chill out Wolf
    2. Had a quick chat on TS last night and it was lovely with the good codecs.

I’m happy to stick with it. It’s already been noted that it’s only 24 slots as opposed to the 32 on the current Vent server.

On the other hand, I do hate the interface of TS. I have never understood how to register or stay registered on the server. I can never write into the text message area.

    🙂
