today i made the final changes to the site
in detail.
i have already transfered the forums from xdcuk.co.uk on multiplay to xdcuk.com on eukhosts (our new providers)
today i swapped the front page which was on xdcuk.net to xdcuk.com
i then made a couple of dns changes to permanently redirect all traffic from xdcuk.net and xdcuk.co.uk to xdcuk.com
if you use a shortcut to the forums at the old address you will need to update this to http://forums.xdcuk.com or http://xdcuk.com/forums/forums either should work.

Is it possible to save a file with an invisible backgroud? IE A hollow circle – so if I was to paste it on to a page of text, the writing underneath would show through?
there are a couple of ways of doing this…
set the image as the background to the page and position text accordingly
or cheat and great the whole thing image and text in photoshop and put that image in your site

well done again.
we are about 10 mile from the centre of it and got a good bouncing out of bed – the doors and windows were banging like crazy – despite all the noise and vibrations there was no damage which doesnt seem right.. not that i am complaining..
i tell you what — its a bit of a fucing shock when it happens! was not impressed! i couldnt beleive how fast the vibrations were! i could quite happily live with out another one even if it was a damp squid on the richter scale.

i have been looking at webhosts and think i have found a cracker – will get the details to you soon – it will allow us to do some really cool stuff and should come with enough space and databases to allow us to host loads of stuff ie we could all have our own blogs / web space / etc all for around 5 quid a month.
