they don’t want to ess with the firewall, all they need to use the internet for browsing, therefore every other person in the house should fonly do what they do. I am fuming!
Flying in an atttack chopper thing in which I had just got into, someone starts shoooting at me from an apc, gets an emp on me as I see them and into the APC I crash. the following text came up

as you will see I have highlighted the URL part of the relevant photo, copy this url (ctrl=c)when replying to a post on this forum click img button:
and paste (ctrl=v) the URL from photbucket and the click on the ig button again (it will change to *img). always click preveiw before you post the reply to check it has worked. Hope this helps!
it caused lag for me on RO and BF2142 before the patch (although to be fair I only used vent on the Dissidents server which was America, but it was still unpolayable). Certainly with RO it was a major source of lag and was next to pointless as VOIP as it would cut out for periods of up to 30 secs and there was no way of knowing. TS worked fine though.
Well it loks like I can’t connect to EA link, or newsgroups. In fact I can do feck all on this shitty internet connection, my ping is in the 200 s on BF2142 and d/l speeds are slow to say the least (<30Kbps). Yet we are on an 8 meg connection and about 1 mile sform the exchange.Also my housemates are twats who refuse to let me have the network password, so my suspicions have already been raised that they are up to something!
spare a thought for those of us whose house mates have so restricted my internet access that I can’t d/l the fecker.

Either way, I still didn’t over react, I didn’t insult him I just said the problems I had and my opinion on the TS/Vent issue. It’s not my fault that the vent lovers get all uppity when I point out it has problems for some of us and it can seem quite a decisive issue for those who can’t get it to work (I’m not the only one with issues, and I’m sure the quality is better, but at what price?)
Can’t be arsed going into this again, I’m going to hang around on TS from now on, if any one fancies joining me for a game of BF2142, then feel free.

The following laughing smilie seems to be a mocking smilie that I had been so stupid as to not check out the link. Besides which, I never insulted Dazzer, I have no idea where you got the impression I was, it seems more than apparent that smilies or not his response was uncalled for, as was your over reaction to my reasoning as to why I didn’t like Vent, and my defence of my intelligence. I’ve just re read my post. Still can’t see why you thought I was not calm, I certainly never insulted Dazzer (I said “Bollocks to that”, hardly an insult) yet you feel it’s ok for someone to insult me?
And then to add insult to injury, your great reasoned response to someone expressing an opinion on Vent is “if you don’t like it don’t use it” (which TBH read “if you don’t like what I like, fuck off”) when you know full well that everyone else is, perhaps oblivious that there are some of us out here that are having issues with Vent. And through this confusion of switching servers we seem to have lost a few people who used to come on, in fact there are barely any people on the BF2142 channel when I do get on.
Quite frankly, I don’t think your response to me was called for.

Hmm, clan with two types of VOIP server, one everyone can use no problems, one which people have issues with, I know, lets keep some coherency by going with the one people have issues with. That makes sense. And if you don’t like it you can fuck off.
Yeah it pisses me off when I get told that I am stupid, it also pisses me off when people come back with “if you don’t like it, don’t use it” Hardly an inclusive sentiment there.
TBH it was more than irritating when you switched over to vent for RO, it meant that if I wanted to play online with you I had to use a prog that lagged my machine, and it also meant that half the clan never saw the other half. It used to be quite fun hopping into a channel even if you weren’t playing on the same game/server and just saying hi and having a bit of a laugh, but that’s right out of the window now with this bollocks with Ventrilo.
Bollocks to that Dazzer, I have set it up properly, I have been on vent server but it lags everything, cuts out frequently and rarely connects to the server. I DO have a degree in Computer Science, I’m no idiot, it seems to be slightly better quality but at a higher cost in performance. TS was hardly brilliant but it worked. and at a decent enough quality to hear everyone clearly, whats the point of using something that is not as reliable? It’s the attitude of far too many companies that they MUST have the newest best products, and rarely settle for the products that are reliable and well bedded in, all for what? a few MS better response time in reality?
Bollocks to this, I cn rarely connect to the Ventrilo server, it’s absolute bollocks. TBH I don’t seem why we moved from the perfectly adequte TS which everyone knew the address for, how it worked, etc. Sorry Pharty, but I do feel this is tenkering for tinkerings sake and in my eyes, the trial has pretty much failed, can we please revert back to TS?
