As my housemates (a couple who live with me) have decided to take over the internet connection we have and not give me the password to the network and no admin rights, they have control over the firewall on the router.
So after not being able to connect to the EA Link program or BF2142, or in fact any game, I decided to ask them if they would unblock some ports on the router so I could in fact use the internet the way I want to. To wich they said no. Cunts.
So now I can’t play BF2142 or any game on the internet, I have no way of remedying this except to pay for the entire internet connection myself and let them use it for free, as this seems to be the only way that I can justify to them my usage of the internet. Bastards, fucking hate the cunts.
Anyway, this is why I have been rather short tempered this week and I apologise to everyone I have upset or offended. I’m off to confront them now.

Or pay for it yourself and block the fuckers off!
What are their grounds for not letting you do it?
they don’t want to ess with the firewall, all they need to use the internet for browsing, therefore every other person in the house should fonly do what they do. I am fuming!
get a wireless and try stealing someone elses signal nearby 😉

Not that Id endorse it but there are hack tools to get into routers,, unencrypt pws etc. If you found a way to do that then they would be non the wiser and you wont have to spend anything. SO as they are being cnuts I’d thoroughly recommend the “mad professor concocting his revenge” route 😉
Oh and as an added bonus if you succeed: change the pw so they cant get in to change it back..muhahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA 😈by the way who is actually paying for the line?

You could pay for another telephone line and get the internet all for yourself, leaving the cunts with their ineffective pron browser whilst you lord it over your very own internet. Sadly this costs a bit and it may be cheaper just to pay for someone to beat them shitless until they relent 😈
they won’t even do port forwarding because it might be a security risk, and because the internet works fine for what they want to do the don’t want to change it. They even had the audacity to say “Well you’re here to work, what do you need to play games for?” Fuck that, I am here to work, and I organise my time so I have some free time to relax in the evenings, and they refuse to allow me to relax in the way that I want and pay for.
Superimpose pictures of them on to pictures of people having sex with goats… and then email them to your local paper.

Why you living with another couple? you working for them or something or you at University still?
You could make it worth there while to let you do with it what you want – ie stop washing up… or walk around the house naked or something.

It’s a netgear router which they got for sky broadband that never got activated. They have flashed it so it works with other ISPs.
anyone know how I can block all traffic to their local IP addresses? ie 192.168.0.4 etc?
Yeah on netgear when you login you can block services then put in a custom port – I forget the maximum range but it’s something like 0-just under 66k on TCP/UDP. Make a custom service which uses all ports, then specify the IP range for the affected users to be banned from using it.
If you’re not that cruel you can enable keyword filtering and block words they use a lot like porn or chat etc and set your IP to be the only one able to browse unrestricted 😛
If you can’t get past the admin password IIRC if you press the button in the hole on the side to reset to factory defaults, it resets the password too, so that could provide you with an avenue of access, if it doesn’t reboot the password it would undo their port forwading, they would have to login again to make everything work then you have your opportunity to get your changes made. If they refuse, just keep resetting the factory settings to undo their settings untill they comply, or hit them 😀
For arguments sake you may as well disable the router’s firewall though and let everyone manage their own individually on their own machines. It’s a little more risky, but in theory there should be no real problems.
