nah, the bios only does a quick check
there is a setting to do a more advanced check in the bios, i think you disable the fast boot option. if you have 2 stick, remove one then the other, a knackerd viddy fan should be ok to get you on desktop, just not games.trouble is that app has been proven to release threads that are still needed, and more often that not will degrade performance or trip the odd blue screen.
XP releases RAM when it needs to, its just the odd rouge app that will leak memory and hog it all up, thats the only time that app will have an effect, cus its freeing up an app thats already faulty, so your not fixing anything, just working round it in the worst way possible.
tbh the common problem is the hard drive locking everything up when it extends the paging file to cope with things like BF2, its a simple thing to set a fixed paging file and only requires 1 reboot to complete.
well worth trying b4 u start trying to understand perf logs.

if you have low ram you need to set an oversized fixed Pf to stop the PF operation mid game, the performance loss on desktop will not be noticed anyway, paging files there and its fixed, the whole point in a variable paging file is to give you more free disk space, something thats not really needed when you can buy 250gb drives under £50, it may sound good, but not when your about to cap a bloody flag and windows decides to add another half a gb of paging file here and there on the drive where it can fit it !
and it takes about 15-30 seconds on average to alter the paging file, roughly how long your lagging like a biatch 🙂
if your 1gb and under try a 2gb paging file to see if the problems stop.
yep you can rent any of gucci’s stock of weapons, although the mini gun is about £40 for the day as its well over a grands worth of kit 😐
