Medics are far from useless. I played medic for 5 mins right at the end of a match and got most heals, most revives and top score! It helped that Matt got shot to shit after sticking his head around any corner and everyone else in the squad dropping dead constantly! Dropping medkits and resing was a full time job 😆
Gary GoatParticipantJust a heads up, you can log into the career page and spend your war bonds to unlock anything you like including anything that is class level locked which is handy considering there is a bug that stops you leveling up classes. URL is https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/career
Log in and go to the loadout page
Gary GoatParticipantHad fun playing last night, we had a 5 man squad going and it was pretty good going. Team play and good squad comp seems much more important then previous BF games which is nice but takes some getting used too. Tanks seem way too OP at the moment but it seems hardly anybody has any AT weaponry unlocked which is probably skewing things. At one point we were in a tank and was focused down pretty fast when the enemy team got their act together and made an effort to kill us so it may be a bit more balanced then it first seems.
The desert map is pretty but i don’t really like the way it plays on conquest, you have the E flag out in the middle of nowhere and then all the other flags clustered up in the middle which just turns into a huge clusterfuck, capping seems to be rewarded far to highly as well. At one point we were just driving around capping flags and were topping the score board with hardly any kills at all! The rush version plays great though and seems really well balanced between attackers/defenders which is nice.
Overall though, the main thing that stuck out was how buggy it is. There are loads of annoying UI bugs, the party system is bugged to hell and vehicles have a tendency of vanishing completely which is ridiculous. This is the same engine as battlefront so i was expecting it to be pretty well polished by now. The BF3 beta was pretty smooth apart from some strange soldier animation bugs and i don’t really remember any bugs from the BF4 beta.
Gary GoatParticipantGot an email with my beta key at 7.30 this morning 8)
Gary GoatParticipantCount me in. I’m so out of practice i wont be able to hit a thing though 😛
Gary GoatParticipantI thought this was going to be £45? Might actually be worth it at £30, the beta was pretty fun
Gary GoatParticipantI just hope its a proper battlefield game and not battlefield battlefront.
Else we’ll get battleships on rails, bombers on rails and flame thrower hero pickups 😐
Gary GoatParticipantIts in open beta and free to play from today until the 9th so jump on if you want to try it out!
Gary GoatParticipantCount me in. Been way to long since i was on TS for some multiplayer.
Gary GoatParticipantI’ve voted WW2 but with all of the speculation i kind of suspect it might span both WW1 and WW2. Its about time we had a decent modern WW2 game!
Gary GoatParticipantIt does look good but i’m not sure if its £45 good.
Gary GoatParticipantI’ve not been that impressed with the beta to be honest. I don’t think i’m going to bother with this one

Gary GoatParticipantDownloaded it over the weekend to give it a try and its pretty good so far!
Its a free to play 3rd person co-op sci-fi shooter with RPG elements. You are an ancient space warrior and it is your job to defend the solar system for some reason. To do this you have access to warframes which are basically organic looking suits of armour that each have there own set of special abilities. You embark on missions from your ship and enemies in these missions drop mods along with crafting materials. Mods can be installed into your warframe or weapons and provide bonuses and augments and the crafting materials are used to build new weapons and warframes. Each weapon and warframe ranks up as you use it which allows you to install more mods. To build new weapons or warframes you need to buy a blueprint with ingame currency and then build it in your ship using materials acquired from missions. All of the weapons and warframes can also be bought straight up for real money.
The combat system is very fast past and incorporates wall running and double jumping and generally feels very good. Graphics are decent too.
Gary GoatParticipantFound a handy guide, worth a read.
