On the DVD, Chris Morris has managed to get some tramps to come into the studio and do a directors commentary. Half way through they start saying “‘ere. Ain’t that the bloke who got us in ‘ere?”

Extra memory is the next thing on my shopping list, but I can’t see where that money’s coming from at the moment (oh the joys of marriage 😉 ). 2GB seems to be the minimum requirements for the latest gen BF games to run smoothly, although I never had a problem with my old ASUS board with 1GB.
ASRock aren’t exactly the Ferrari of mobo manufacturers, but I wouldn’t have thought it would effect the gameplay this much. Sure, they might be more likely to go pop, but from what I’ve read on this board it’s fairly stable and middle of the road performance wise.I think the main culprit might be our friends at EA, but I’ll see what I can work out tonight.
Maybe I’ll just go old-school and install Operation Flashpoint…

Actually I thought it might be a lag/connection issue, but the problems persist with single player. It looks prettier, but still the same jerky frame rate and the running in treacle feeling. I remember Signal said he had similar problems, and he’s got a 8800! Basically the screen will be fine, but it almost seem to skip a frame or two every second. Driving an FAV is almost impossible.
Like Lensman, I upgraded my system just before the penultimate patch so I can’t work out if it’s the patch or my system. But I get a very similar level of performance with BF2 and 2142, so it might be something to do with the game engine.
I’ve heard similar stories about dual processors causing lag problems, but it seems only on Vista (I’m XP) although I don’t seem to be able to disable the spare core to try it out. As the problem occured with my AGP and PCI-E it would certainly be a common denominator between the two.
I think I’ll try installing the game from scratch and not adding any of the patches and then see how it performs.
And as for Insane’s comments: Well I did try, but my knob wouldn’t fit through the hole in the middle of the DVD, so I just had a wank.
People are always using the American flag for good or evil purposes. However, was Vader good or bad? Sure he did lots of bad stuff, but in the end he was good. I think you should start a poll and then we can argue about vindication, retribution and karma.
I would personally be more offended if they had painted an American flag on that little shit from Episode1. Or on Jar Jar Binks.
After watching this I must say that a cross twixt a man and a spider has to be the best combination of human/insect abilities for fighting crime. Obviously only if you take the strengths and not the weaknesses. Getting eaten by your own young and breathing through your arse wouldn’t be great.
Unlike Insane, I thought Emo Spidey was cool, although it would have been funnier if he started whining about not feeling alive, moped around a lot more and had a crap Myspace page where he blogged about utter shite like most kids today do.

My god Emo’s are cool, although I’m cooler as proven by that stuff I made up about myself above. As cool as Spidey 3 was, it did have some down points too. 1) Mary-Jane’s looking a bit skraggy. 2) The other bird that Emo Parker pulls doesn’t look like she’d put out. 3) The Slovakian girl was probably a goer but looked too gangly. 4) Predictable ending.
I say it was predictable because I knew that it was Venom who’d killed uncle Ben whilst he’d possesed some other guy who was the astronaut that Mary-Jane Skragathon had been humping when she didn’t know Peter Parker was Spidey. But then I had seen the trailers and understood what was happening. And Parker turning out to be his own dad, did kind of make sense.
8 out of 10. Not as good as the first 2, but still pretty good.

Hang in there. You’re not missing much back in Blighty at the moment. There’s not much decent on telly, patch 1.25 for 2142 ain’t that good and it seems we’re having some security issues on the forums.
Don’t worry about the booze up. I’m not 100% sure that it’s happening at the moment, and most of us are borderline alchie’s anyway, so if it doesn’t I’m sure there’ll be another soon enough.

Actually, I’ve just seen that Legit is advertising HAMACHi Log-Me-In or something for LAN gaming over the net. Sounds like PC anywhere to me, so that you can log onto a remote PC from your own, they just need the client running on them.
Do you really want the guy who hacked Insane’s account to have the ability to hack into your own PC? Just think about what you’re doing.
Legit is waaaay out of line. At least when I hacked Insane’s account I had the decency to only delete a couple of emails and keep the incident to myself. BTW Insane; that bloke called Pet_Shop_Boy on your friends list said he’d got a bad rash and itching and reckons you should see a doctor quickly.
But doing it for a ‘bit of a laugh’ isn’t reason enough. If I came home and a friend of mine had let himself into my house by nicking a spare set of keys ‘for a laugh’ he’d certainly not go up in my estimations.
