You’ve got to admire the way the British film industry finds ways to finance itself!
I’ve not seen this film, but I believe it suffers from OTT effects and action, to the extent that we become bored by it. Here’s how studios work these things out:
Movie Exec 1: “Okay, so Milla charges into the room and kills 5 vampires with her sword.”
Movie Exec 2: “Hmm… Nothing new there. How about she crashes a motorbike through the window, leaps off and kills 15 vampires?”
Movie Exec 3: “A better idea would be if she crashed a plane through the roof and then lept out with two swords and killed 50 vampires!”
Movie Exec 4: “Good idea! But how about rather than a jet plane it’s an aircraft carrier and she kills 200 vampires with guns and swords and then leaps 50 feet in the air as the town explodes?”
Two hours later
Studio Owner: “So, in summary Milla crashes the Effiel Tower into Wembley Stadium, kills 2 million vampires with her swords that fire atomic missiles and then gets blown 50 miles into the sky where she smashes through the canopy of a jetfighter and uses it to shoot down an airship full of 10 million vampires.”@=XDC= MadHippy wrote:

You’re right, I was absolutely wankered. Big time. I haven’t been that drunk since I drank a pint of Southern Comfort for a ‘laugh’.
Which was a bit of a shame, because I’d like to have been able to converse without slurring my words or stumbling around. I remember meeting Terry Venables in the pub and being told we were welcome anytime, and that everytime I put my pint down some guy kept trying to take it. From what I do remember though, you’ll all a sound bunch of guys and I had a thoroughly good (if slightly blurry) evening.
So when’s this Northern do that I keep hearing being mentioned?

After last night I’d say no. But ask me again next week when my hangover has been forgotten and I’ll say YES!!!!!

It was a blinding night.
Although I can’t remember much of it. I think I had one or two Guinesses too many. And then a few JD’s after that. But you guys probably didn’t notice that I was a tiny bit tipsy.
Very nice meeting you all, and it was a shame that WET ran off early and that Pharty got there a bit late (poor fellah had to put up with drunken conversation).
My choice to vote Minti into XDC paid off, as he woken me up when the train pulled into Berkhamsted, otherwise I’d have spent teh night sleeping in Birmingham. As it happens though I didn’t go straight home and fell asleep in a castle.

I’ll be at the pub fairly early, so I’ll try and grab us a table. I’ll be wearing a grey T shirt with E2EK1EL written on it in black, probably enjoying a Guiness and looking like Billy-No-Mates until some of XDC brigade show up.
I’m hopefully leaving work at 4pm, so I should be at the Tatershall Castle before 16:30 as well.
