Not impressed.. some good SFX.. but then some OTT SFX which made me think it would be much better made as a Manga toon

i just saw a trailer for that. she looked nice, not so sure about the film though and insane proved that theory right lol.
I’ve not seen this film, but I believe it suffers from OTT effects and action, to the extent that we become bored by it. Here’s how studios work these things out:
Movie Exec 1: “Okay, so Milla charges into the room and kills 5 vampires with her sword.”
Movie Exec 2: “Hmm… Nothing new there. How about she crashes a motorbike through the window, leaps off and kills 15 vampires?”
Movie Exec 3: “A better idea would be if she crashed a plane through the roof and then lept out with two swords and killed 50 vampires!”
Movie Exec 4: “Good idea! But how about rather than a jet plane it’s an aircraft carrier and she kills 200 vampires with guns and swords and then leaps 50 feet in the air as the town explodes?”
Two hours later
Studio Owner: “So, in summary Milla crashes the Effiel Tower into Wembley Stadium, kills 2 million vampires with her swords that fire atomic missiles and then gets blown 50 miles into the sky where she smashes through the canopy of a jetfighter and uses it to shoot down an airship full of 10 million vampires.”@=XDC=NeonSamurai wrote:

The SFX aint that good (thinks back to the motorbike chase, read a review somewhere comparing it to watching tron!)
All the ‘bad’ guys in it seem to be wearing old style german helmets painted black!

underworld evolution, now theres a brilliant largley overlooked film.
if you can just block out the thoughts of Goths sat in there black bedrooms wrapped in long leather jackets with stupid boots that have 9inch high treads watching this with their little pierced boners and white faces, it’s a fucking good movie
