When I speak, should Ventrillo show something that indicates who is speaking? I.e,. Like TS does by highlighting the name of the speaker in the use list?
No m8 I didn’t – but then I might have been AFK, but you wouldn’t know that because nothing appears to show others you are AFK when you mute the microphone… Or am I missing something? 😕
Weird. It might have been Fenix nOm come to think of it. But I tried moving later and couldn’t – had to use the login as admin option to move myself. 😕 This was before pharty restarted the server with the new password so it might have been sorted then.
True but I think we should find out whether Ventrilo is really better and worth all this hassle. Remember its running with a better Codec than the one TS was on. We might all have just gone though this unnecssarily when a simple server side change in TS to bump up the codec to GSM could have resolved all sound quality concerns.
The only way to tell is put TS on the same codec as vent and do a side-by-side comparision. Or are there other reasons for favouring Vent?? If so Vent fans – please tell us. I think 99% of people just want to use a proggy that works with the games they play.
Ah i’d forgotten about that – Turks – its where you have to get flags in sequence. Could make for some interesting games.
Hmmm – last night we all had to get nOm to move us a different channel – him being logged in as admin….

Begs the usual question – what going to happen to the server? I suspect:
2 days of Northern Strike maps before lack of demand means reverting it back to the usual rotation.

Matt – there are 2 comms servers – one associated with the RO server, the other with the 2142 server. We kind of made the decision yesterday to only login to the RO vent server as it could hold more people – so its staying up. The 2142 vent server wasn’t going to be used – hence moving it back to TS.
Pharty i know you’re busy but seeing as no one is using the BF2142 ventrilo server – is it possible to switch it back to TS so we can try out some of the better quality codecs?
