You will experience the same delights if you want SLi with an Intel board coz you will need an Nfoce chipset.

❓Thanks pharty – I have a SLI board but have never used it as SLI and doubt will ever had the need. I intend going for a Intel chipset board – i’ve had enough problems with nforce, via, sis etc etc over the years. 🙄
Insane speaks the truth… gaming laptops used to be the size of briefcases and make a noise like a 747 on takeoff due to the fans. Don’t know if thats changed. We buy a lot of Centrino laptops for work and they are the dogs due to the great battery life you get with them. Not sure if they are gaming Pcs though.
Glad to see Intel back on top with their processors and I look forward to building a Core Duo rig soon. I;ve always bought AMD but I don’t think i’ve ever had a hassle free build – theres always been some bollocks incompatibility with the chipset or drivers or sound card or other toss. Update punkbuster using pbsetup from evenbalance. If like me you then get a message saying that the servers version of PB is older than yours and it kicks you then you can enter this into the console:
pb_security 0
which tells your PC to downgrade itself to the version on the server. They should then be in sync. Seems our server is always a bit slow in updating itself when new pb updates are released.

Well the sensible thing would be to make the maps free to all, but keep the new unlocks and other content to the booster pack owners. But thats unlikely.

My reading of that is that booster pack owners will get to use the new unlocks on the existing vanilla maps (just like the Bf2 special forces exp pack). But it still means that running a mixed server will see half the people playing get booted when it switches to a booster map.
Still I live in hope. Go on EA – surprise us! 😉

Feck off – last nights Minsk titan map was one of the best titan battles we’ve had – it went down to the wire and even at the end we weren’t sure who had won. I think after that nail biter a lot left for a break. Game getting boring indeed… 🙄 I’m still enjoying Bf2142 – and I’d rather boil my nads in molten lead than ever play another game of Bf2 again.
I will concede though – the titan maps as conquest are a mixed bunch. Some work (Suez, Shuba Labia or whatever) and some don’t (Sidi Power Plant). But you probably notice Sidi more because its second in rotation and the regularly restarts of the server and the time the server gets full (early evening) mean you are likely to see these maps more often.
