Heard it all before with BFV and BF2. Some hardcore 42’ers said they’d never play ‘Nam and some of them never did. Some came back for BF2 and some disappeared from battlefield altogether. The games are always evolving – get rid of the idea that there’s going to be some game everyone is going to play together again – it aint going to happen folks.

I’ll give 2142 a go and if i dont like it I will find something else. As regards BF2 – great game but I think its run out of steam – adding content via paid-for expansion packs was a mistake imho – it’s killed the idea of mixing maps on a vanilla server so to have a full server its either all vanilla or all expansion packs. The lack of mods has also shorten its life – that was something that kept 42 going for longer. FH2 coming out after 2142 is a serious cock-up. It will end up being the preserve of hard-core FH fans and get little new interest. Sadly.

If enough interest is there amongst the paying members of XDC for 2142 on the server then I am sure it will go on – for a while anyway!
