I’m not normally a sucker for marketing ploys, but this has actually increased the liklihood I’ll buy the game. It was just last week too that I adopted the fuck you stance because of the dedicated server issue…good work activision, I’m impressed 🙂
Anyone tried this yet? I think it was released yesterday in the end (for those who have preordered), though for some reason I had today in my mind as release date. I’ve got it downloaded and ready to try later this evening 🙂
Yea good games last night, even if I was a bit shit 🙂 Slowly getting back into the way of things though, and the single shot mode for the pointy device medic gun is working a treat, so cheers for that tip Tooth. I just need a bit more practice now, and find a way to throttle the bandwidth my flatmate is using watching fucking iplayer every evening.
I suspect tonight will be a L4D2 night, but in between games, or when I get bored, I’ll be up for more bf2 🙂 Anyone interested jump on IRC and let us know, as I’m sometimes on other TS/vent servers.

I haven’t heard great things about it either, and really don’t like the idea of never ending maps for multiplayer.
Can’t believe I’m going to say this, given my views on it in the past, but I’d actually rather spend the fiver and have the game delivered “instantly” than wait for it to arrive by post.
Not going to though, I think I’ll wait for it to come down a bit in price. How recent a release is it?
hmm I thought dust was going to be some way of letting console players onto the eve server, but guess I was wrong. Is it something similar to Global Agenda?
Yea it’ll open a command prompt at 100% which you can close. If it still seems to be stuck, just close the whole thing, as long as it hit 100% you’re patched. Jump on IRC if you need any help.
We finally got enough people on last night for a few games of this, albeit 2v2 and 4 player FFA. There were a couple of minor glitches with graphics, and it crashed occasionally, but it was overall very playable, and good fun. Doc and my brother Bakura, hadn’t really played it before (my brother had briefly played it), but both of them more than held their own against myself and Paddy, so much so that we were quite happy to play with random teams selected.
It would be good to have more people, since 2v2 isn’t the best on some of the larger maps, so if anyone else would like to join us for an evening sometime, keep an eye on IRC for any games going up.
Start using IRC mate, you might be able to find a game amongst us there.
Oh and is COD WAW worth the £30 price tag it has on steam atm, or should I wait for it to come down a bit?
