Let me rephrase my last so it paints a better picture and I can stop palming my face. There is no issue here vs armour, rather the constantness of the hail of bullets from the carrier. If you’re in armour and on this map, it is rare you’re not being pelted by bullets from the AA on point B. If you’re on foot, the same between A and B, and on occasion near C as well as on the low route between A and D. The point is how common and constant it’s become.

Also, when did canals, or any BF map for that matter, become infantry only?

Well we’ll try it on monday and see how it goes. There’s been a request for this and there are a few in xdc who like this cod invention being transferred to a bf game, but we’ll try it for sure andgo back to what we normally have the day after.

How do you feel about it?

I don’t see the server on my favourites but am not in the house to check what’s going on. Does it need a restart?

Just to add a bit of perspective here, this isn’t just about 1 or 2 people racking up a long series of kills. It has almost become standard on our server to feel the ping of bullets on the hull of any armour as you move between A and B. If you’re infantry, it pretty much eliminates the coastline as a route to take, as it does the hill over C, and last night I saw how easy it is for the gunner to shoot down the canal between the A and D route. For me that’s far too much. Hits on armour are irritating at least, but hits to infantry are more or less one shot kills since the patch. It’s cheap play not wanted on a server bearing our name.

It’s clear when a player is sitting and constantly raking the shore and hills of the maps seeking random hits and kills. It’s clear as day when they do this all round long.

It’s not the type of player I want to see on the server and am more than willing to put the time in to weed them out.

We had numerous complaints about 77Qball77 using this last night on Canals, and his 18 kills for 0 deaths demonstrate how bad this is getting. Now the guy’s score was rubbish, sitting mid table, and his team were losing badly, so it was pretty much a waste of a player, on this occasion, but I’m personally getting tired of being raked by a hail of AA anytime I wander near the shore on canals, whether that be in a vehicle or otherwise. From the complaints, it seems that I’m not the only one.

Now I’m all for your stance Doc, in just playing the game the way it’s designed etc, but this is a clear flaw and abuse of map design in my opinion. It generates numerous complaints, and I know of at least one person who hasn’t played on our server since we refused to act on this during the first week of release. In my opinion we should act on this in future.

I banned Qball last night because of the complaints in game chat.

Incidently, enterbf3.com were reporting today that EA’s CFO have announced the release of karkand on 6th december for ps3, and so it’ll be the 13th for us based on that.

I actually intended on asking the same question this weekend, as I think it would be an excellent idea given how much squad rush is going on late at night these days. The server would be 16 players so suitable for squad dm, squad rush, and probably team dm if we felt that way inclined. It could double as a match server as well since most games will be 8v8.

Well yea but I think there’s more to it or else we’d see xbox users getting stuff as well. Ps3 owners were offered some sort of preorder bundle that included free access to bf1943, which was later withdrawn. Ea were threatened with a class action suit and had to back track and declare they would still get it. Why this concerns ps3 and not xbox may be because the ps3 platform is perceived as being rubbish for fps titles and ea have to dig deep into their box of carrots to attract buyers or maybe there’s more to it behind the scenes when negotiating with sony, but I would be surprised if it had anything to do with the screw pc owners in favour of consoles carry on.

I think it has something to do with an announcement not long ago that they would no longer get bf1943. Ea have since had to backtrack on that but they still get early access to karkand.

Battlelog apparently works from my phone as well and I can see it now on favourites. I have no idea why this happens or what a restart does to fix it.

I fojnd that happened yesterday morning as well and have no idea why. A restart from the control panel on rackage sorted it though so i’ll see if I can do that now from my phone.
