I got a GTX460 as a cheap option recently and along with a quad core processor I can run bad company 2/vietnam with everything up full and at a decent framerate. Obviously the cards you’re looking at are better, but they also look needlessly expensive to me.
We’ve got games going every night Max, just give us a shout on steam or jump on ts. Sorry I missed your message last night, I was out playing football.

Good job with the banner, that’s exactly what we’re after. Only problem is the server won’t display anything unless the dimensions are exactly 512×64, and I’ve not been able to get this working yet. Are any of the sizes on that site in those dimensions, or could you adjust it slightly to fit them?

Text on banner – include the site address, and =XDC= obviously, but after that if you need something to go, we could always use the old “wasting time since 99/1999” slogan we used to have about a few places. Whatever you feel looks best really, the point is just to give the loading screen a bit more gloss. Alternative text maybe something rules related, like play fair, no attacking uncaps etc, but it’s not really needed as it comes up in game anyway.
Yea it crashed right after I typed that, but still at least tonight showed when we need to be on in order to fill it. Hopefully it’ll be fine tomorrow, we can fill it before the match, then come back afterwards.
Really didn’t take much time this evening to fill this up as soon as we had 4 people on. By the end of the first map we were about half full and it’s stayed that way since. Some really good games as well so far.
Good games over the weekend guys, I’d been slacking a bit the past week, and it was good to get back into it again with some quality games the last few days. We made a couple of attempts to fill the server and managed it once on Saturday afternoon, however the other attempts were made far too late in the day to have any success. On Saturday the server stayed full until 5 or 6pm, when it started losing players, most likely due to it being dinner time, then with people going out, we decided against trying to seed it again later. I must’ve played through the rotation 3 or 4 times while it was full, with a good number of us coming and going during that time, and we did ourselves proud with an impressive win percentage over those rounds.
I’ve run into a slight problem with the server admin, in that any time I connect with BC2Guardian, the program seems to override the settings I’ve applied to the server’s default config file. I’ll try and get some advice on this from Gonzo, and see if there’s anyway around it, but in the meantime, we should use the rackage control panel for admin. To get access to this, post your interest below, and I’ll set you up with a username and password (although if you already have an account with rackage, let me know your username and I’ll give it permissions).
For tonight, I’m hoping to be available shortly as the next 2 or 3 hours are the best for seeding the server. If anyone’s free to help, jump on ts etc as soon as you can. We’ll start trying once there are 3 or 4 of us available. It’ll be much the same story the rest of the week, with the exception of tomorrow night when I’ll be watching football until 10ish, but feel free to work away without me.
Actually if everyone can make a copy of these and keep with your own backup files, it’ll help ensure we never lose them. I don’t expect the links above to go dead anytime soon, but you never know.
Took some digging, but managed to find a source, which I’ve posted in a seperate thread, so I can find them again later.
Would some arty type be able to knock up a welcome banner for the server, to display on the loading screen?
The Dimensions should be:
•Dimension: 512×64
•Format: jpg, png or gif
•File Size: Under 127KB
•URL Length: Less than 64 charactersI think I have some the XDC logo’s somewhere on my PC, so if anyone needs them for this pm me with your email address.
