    Anyone using a laptop for bf3 or even tried an ultra book? You can get them with fairly decent GPUs these days (for notebooks)

    update::

    I realised this morning (having left the machine on to download the latest mega patch) that I had neglected to setup the power options in win7.. so i was running on a “balanced” power plan.. ive changed it to “performance” and things are even smoother.. its still not fantastic on Ultra but fps was mid 30s.

    went on for a game last night.. and discovered i had a little wait ahead of me.. im now wayy over my 5gb DL limit (on 15gb so far this month)

    so ill try to get on tonight.
    usually not on till 10:30ish, will anyone still be around then?

    Will it be HC?
    Has it NOT been HC any time this week?

    whenever ive gone on it has been.

    Although.. HC makes it easier to kill as well as be killed.. so it could be a good thing?

    I sorted it….

    Plugged the new gfx card into the telly with hdmi instead of dvi or vga and all the important parts of the boot show up now. i can even use the bios without bringing the monitor in from the garage!

    1680*1050
    40+fps
    50c cpu
    65c gpu
    That’s on high
    Ultra gets me 30fps Max and some ghosting or something.

    Very nice on high settings tho.
