Does anyone know if its possible to control the (dual)boot process using a USB key or something else that dosent require you to see the monitor.

I have my pc hooked up to my TV and the TV cant display all the different resolutions during boot one of which is the dual boot/OS selection screen.

So I want to be able to boot Copy A if the usb key is not in place and Copy B if it is.

    ?

I think the way to do it mate, would be to select one OS as the default and have it so that when you boot up, you either push return to select the default OS or down then return to select the other. I don’t think the functionality you are suggesting is available, but there may be other ways than I have suggested.

Yeah but if it goes wrong im up the.. well im screwed.
The one thing I thought of trying is……
Use a USB pen . Make it boot able.
On boot run a power shell script to set the default boot choice
    And reboot.
Then when the os comes up get that to run another script to reset the
    Default.

Sounds convoluted.. but as you say. There isn’t an out of the box solution.

    I sorted it….

Plugged the new gfx card into the telly with hdmi instead of dvi or vga and all the important parts of the boot show up now. i can even use the bios without bringing the monitor in from the garage!

    cheers…
