Very nice clean maps – my only gripe! Why squish them up – any why soi many points to cap – is this a game mode? Might be better, with less flags

I just think less flags would make a better fight of it as it just turns in to a death match, thats how I found it yesterday.

Participantmore flags are better, squads can then defend a flag or 2 rather than spending the entire time running between them all capping, killing 1 or 2 people then moving on to the next one. most of the maps (base bf3) you are running around the map like a loony, going from enemy flag to enemy flag. very little defense is going on because it takes so little time to get between them

Here here, hippo ftw. This is exactly what i like!
Going to one flag, capping, going to other flag, capping.. then having to go back to other flag as its been taken pisses me off, feel like a yoyo half the time!

I’m surprised by this, as I thought you’d like the return to an older conquest design. In particular Shaqi and Karki which have close to the old flag layouts, though the new Karki actually has less flags than in BF2. Since BC2 conquest has otherwise felt a little dumbed down and consoley.

ParticipantI remember with the old maps, that you had to fight for the points (6 I think), having to defend 8 all it felt like was continually going round in a circle, there just wasnt that fight in any central location just my view, of course I will play it but it just didnt feel like BF2 used to feel on these maps.

KeymasterFor me, Sharqi, and Oman, are almost exactly as they were. The only disappointment in Karki is the loss of the warehouse and Factory across the river. It is however still crucial to the overall map strategy to get behind the defenders and cap the flags over there, and then defend the bridge and ford. As before, if you threaten the armour respawn, you normally end up with your own fight on your hands over there, which is normally against the more tactically astute players of the defending team. The fight is a little more concentrated though, and therefore likely to be shorter, which I don’t like, but the largest version of the map plays almost the same as it did before overall.
Oh and Wake is also more or less the same, although the airpower always annoys me on it.

i feel like im going round in a constant circle now 🙂
bf2 i could hold back fron the front line a bit and run interceptions on the enemies as they tried to flank and take the rear flags/destroy commander items.
mouseturd city was a great one as the chopper would oten bypass a few flags and drop a squad on a rear flag and try and cap that. and with a few people defending it would stop them or hold them up at worst in order for reinforcements to arrive.

Participantapologies for my raging last night gents! was not happy with that small map game mode.
the proper conquest maps were great, although i wasnt playing very well i did enjoy it.
it may just be me, but the maps feel smaller than they did in bf2. like they compressed the maps slightly.
