And they won’t be able to capture what’s in the books, since most of the humour is unspoken… Think I’ll probably stick to the books rather than ruin my enjoyment by seeing a sub-standard movie.

And Terry Pratchett, the best-selling author, now hopes to follow in the footsteps of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films with a £6m screen adaptation of his fantasy novel Hogfather.It will be the first time that Pratchett’s phenomenally successful Discworld series, which has sold more than 45 million copies, has been brought to life on the screen by real actors. David Jason will lead the cast as Albert, Death’s assistant, a grumpy 65-year-old elf.
