So what do you recomend? Need some 5.1 (or 7.1) speakers, willing to up the soundcard as well, but shouldnt be more than £100, need good sound, mostly for playing MP3s/CDs etc?

well my 2 cents is: if you want to play mp3/cd , then why using a 5.1 kit????
2.1 is more than enough as long as music is stereo …
btw creative and logitech make good speakers kit for your budget .

I’m still using 5.1 inspire from creative – they are OK

And as for speaker go for 5.1’s, 7.1 is just to much wire, can not recomend speaker as mine are no longer made 😥
