Don’t know if anyone else has been checking this show out, but I’m pleasantly surprised by it. Basically there’s a ‘time anomally’ and lot’s of dinosaurs are turning up and causing problems, so the government get some maverick palentologist and his team of misfits to save the day. Think X Files meets Jurrassic Park.I thought it was going to be another Torchwoodesque farce, but it’s actually pretty good. Very good production values and a pretty top script:
“He passed up on watching Battlefield: Earth – the directors cut. Something’s not right…”
“Or he’s got a girlfriend?”
“Something’s not right…”
I give it a hearty 7/10. Good fun for all the family on a Saturday night.

Participantdinosaurs are so unrealistic.

ParticipantFuck… its in the Forest of Dean… do the dinosaurs have deep west country accents?
Am I safe in Cheltenham?
Should I get off my fat arse and write my diss?
Is there any point if there are dinosaurs coming?!
Too many questions to cotemplate in one day alone.

ParticipantOh my god.. you dissed the amazing program Hero’s but you rate this?
I absolutly love Dinosaurs.. but this is the shittest (But Have to watchable) program ever…. the acting is Apauling, esspecially from that mumbling lead scottish guy.. I cringed when he was discribing the line in which the portal would open next.. Its not a touch on torchwood and you should be shot for even using the word Torchwood in the same post as this
utter garbage
1/10 for Passing the time on a Satdee neet

You sir are a bungling buffoon!
This prog ain’t anything special, but it’s enjoyable. Unlike Torchwood, which is basically ‘Press Gang’ but with aliens, the female equivalent of Jimmy Tarbuck and people saying stuff like “You can’t love her, she’s a machine!” Plus there’s always some hokey batty action, normally bloke on bloke!
Stop standing on the fence Magicker! You know I’m 100% correct!
I’m sure that Primeval’s different to Hero’s (Heroes FFS) though. If the moron who wrote Hero’s understood how clothing burns and that cheerleader’s clothes had vaporised and then she had to run through the water from a fireman’s hose in slow motion, her young, firm body bouncing with each step and… Oh god… My eyesight… my eysyeddc is faioopled im blkubs kiuhadien

Participantooo getting picky now are we??
Ok then if writer of hero series would notice that (as should Lois Lane notice that Superman is infact Clarke Kent with fucking glasses).. then gheyest writer ever of wank program should have made the twat diving in a swimming pool notice the largest sea creature ever ever discovered which was basically about 20 football pitches in length in a piss stained swimming pool in London!
oh yeah not to mention his wife.. I wish my clothes looked like hers after being away 8 fooking years!
p.s. that cheerleader is FAF in Hero’s.. Its a shame her clothes didnt disintigrate.. Maybe thats in “Hero’s After Hours” edition.. five me the script and I’d make it happen!

Insane, don’t do this! Don’t defend Torchwood! It’s like trying to defend a fort made of Weetabix. It can’t be defended! And don’t try and defend the writer of Hero’s. The cheeleader’s clothes should have come right off, and we should have seen everything. Same with the single mum. All of her clothes should have fallen off too, for some reason.
Taking a note out of Wolf’s book I decided to post your comments about Primeval on a paleontology discussion board. They are all doctors and professors, so they know what they’re talking about. Here’s what they had to say:
@Dr Carmichael wrote:
Your friend is partly correct. A Dakosaurus would be hard to hide in a swimming pool, although it was effectively a pissy coloured predator, which might have made it harder to see in a typical London swimming pool. Also the beast would vary in size, but no creature has ever been recorded at ‘the size of 20 football pitches’.
@Dr Paul McGunnell wrote:
Travelling back to a prehistoric time (as the wife of the hero did in this show) would actually mean existing before certain concepts were created. For example, her clothes would look like new since the theories behind stains and clothes ‘wearing out’ wouldn’t come into effect until several million years later. I find that part of the show perfectly plausible.
@Dr Hans Zarkov wrote:
A nubile, young cheerleader running into a burning train would have immediately had all the clothes burned off her perky, tanned body. No question. We’d have seen everything. That’s a scientific fact.

ParticipantI started to watch this as, and I’m not the first to say this, there is fuck all that is any good to watch on a saturday night. Sadly, even with this proggy on there is still fuck all that is any good to watch on a saturday night. Total arse.
The monsters in the original game ‘Doom’ were more realistic than the beasties in this. The acting is more wooden than the Forest of Dean, and the programme’s attempt to portray the British secret service as some kind of shadowy and competent organisation is laughable. And don’t get me started on the woeful script.
This pile of toss derserveth not a normal rating.
I will give it:shit/10
