ParticipantI am being creative, and want to design an icon for a folder… does anyone know how I can do that?
Basically – I am making a portfolio out of powerpoint… full of videos, links to websites and such lark.
I want to make it so that all my chap has to do is double click on the powerpoint icon (which is in the shape of something African or other) and the file will open, and he can navigate to everything from there… is it possible to hide all the other files to keep it all as simplistic as possible?
Cheers

ParticipantOooo and can you make a powerpoint file load streight in to the slideshow, or does it have to go in to the program first?
Need to have this finished by 11am tomorrow, so answer quick!
Its going to be a loooooooong night!

ParticipantTo answer your second question, save the file as pps and not ppt and it will open straight into the powerpoint slideshow
As to the whole icon thingy, not sure how you can change the icon for this as it’s a powerpoint file the icon will be a powerpoint icon due to the file association to the powerpoint program
If it’s the folder icon you want to change then just right click it and go to customize and in the bottom you can change icon, just not sure how to get extra icons in thereThen to hide files, select the file you want to hide, go to properties and select hidden under the attributes. This should then hide the file when viewing in Explorer unless the person has turned on the setting to view hidden files
Not sure that was much help, or quick, but it’s an answer

Participantturks – power point has a pack and go option in the file menu – this will pull all your files together and create an autoplay file and burn to cd or a memory stick.
as to the icon – right click on the launch file – properties – change icon

Doh, sorry Turks, cracking answer from Magicker, maybe I need to brush up on my Powerpoint skills as it’s seemingly changed a bit since my last escapades on it in 2000
