    i found this chat app, not sure if anyone is interested in having one but it seems to work ok and its free as far as i can see

    I’d like a shout box type thing on the frontpage of the site but not sure how this particular one would fit in. There’s an issue of security as I think that’s how we were hacked last year, but I don’t really know or care a big lot (since we’re now on a neutral server). Keep looking though, php apps are what I’m on the look out for too, especially the kind that fit on a frontpage.
