Why use USB when you have paid for an expensive GFX card?

Buy a cheap 5.1 analogue set… the classic medusas are now shite… but I love my Zalmans.

    Bargain.

mainly cos all those blooy wires do my head in.. i have been through 3 pairs of madusas.. they always hiss and there are 3 miles of cable to content with and another power adaptor.. the whole plug into usb and go seems tempting.

then there are all the wires required for passing through the 5.1 speakers..

in the end went for the roccat analogue 5.1

initially i was a bit unimpressed as the sound was a bit iffy and my supreme fx 2 sound card (read realtech onboard crap pretending to be something else) looked like the weak point. there was no ability to send the base to the sub so music sounded crap.. games were ok mind you

i installed a creative x-fi and tested that out.. spot on!!

so long as you have a half decent sound card i think you will like these.. a bit pricey but the build quality is rock solid and very comfortable.. not tested the mic out yet.. need to get on ts to see how that works out

for the 1st time in a long time i can locate people in game based on the sounds i am hearing.. been a long time since this was the case.

now i have the best of both worlds.. my 5.1 monster surround sound speaker set is plugged into the onboard sound card and my 5.1 headphones are plugged into the x-fi so no compromise all round
