I have been bought a lush wireless printer, and it is connected to the network. I can see it on the laptop, but I can’t connect to it unless I use the USB cable (which kind of defeats the purpose of having a wifi printer). I have disabled my firewall and my AV, but still I can’t connect.

“Well guess what, my voyager router 2110 had a little feature enabled call Wireless user isolation switched on. This meant that one Wifi device could not see the other, ie, the mac wireless could no see the printer wireless but the pc which was hard wired could.”

    (http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vista-7/739666-solved-vista-laptop-cant-print.html” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;)

“The 3rd thing was to enable LPR printing, from control panel, programs and features, turn on/off windows features, under printing, I turned on LPR, printing.”

Manually assign it an IP address in the same range you are using

Ok, I will – if you can tell me how to do it, and how I know what range I am in ๐Ÿ™‚

That didn’t work either, I’m beginning to think that it’s a setting on my laptop rather than something on the printer, but I don’t know why I think that ๐Ÿ™

For my bluetooth and tunnel adaptors on that wee report thingy it says media disconnected – could that be the problem?

u mean that bit? i didnt know what they are, i googled,

apparantly “those are the IP4>IP6 translation adapters for the IPv6 protocol in Vista. They will cause no harm and you can ignore them.”

,,,i wouldn’t worry about it, as long as your wireless is connected tess.

let me know the following info and i’ll have another search:

    1)what printer(make/model)
    2)what router(make/model)
    3)what Operating system(i’m assuming Vista)
4)what happens when you press print, what error message u get?
5)you said your printer is connected to network and that you can see it from laptop. how do you see it? from looking at what screen?

I really appreciate the help ๐Ÿ™‚

    1)what printer(make/model)
    Kodak ESP 7
    2)what router(make/model)
    Bt Homehub
    3)what Operating system(i’m assuming Vista)
    Vista Business
4)what happens when you press print, what error message u get?
When I press print I get a printer not responding message.
5)you said your printer is connected to network and that you can see it from laptop. how do you see it? from looking at what screen?
If I click on my computer I can see Kodak Flash Drive as a network location. I have tired dragging and dropping into it to print, but that won’t work
On network locations the printer is shown at the bottom, and a message says that it can;t be placed on the map.

Bloody Kodak said they would phone me today but they didn’t. They are useless:(

A silly question perhaps, but have you read through the “ESP 7 All-in-One Printer Support Center” on the kodak site?

theres a bit of crap on there that may help you. heres a few bits..

    http://selfservice.kodak.com/service/panels/solution/printSolution.jsp?solutionId=1333&t=solutionTab&ft=searchTab&ps=solutionPanels&locale=en_US&_dyncharset=UTF-8&viewMode=NORMAL&windowType=SAME&highlightInfo=&isRecord=false” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

    Firewall Security Software Applications
For your wireless printer to function properly, your firewall security program must allow the following computer services:
    รขโ‚ฌโ€œ mDNSResponder.exe
    รขโ‚ฌโ€œ Kodaksvc.exe
    รขโ‚ฌโ€œ EKDiscovery.exe
    รขโ‚ฌโ€œ AiOHomeCenter.exe
(i know you said youve disabled firewall, but anyway)

i would add those exception rules to your vista firewall if there not there allready.. i am pretty new to vista, like 3 weeks,,, every time i check, the firewall is enabled, i keep turning the goddam thing off, alas it seems to like turning back on again, i dunno wtf lol. thats another google ๐Ÿ˜‰

other than that i’m getting stumpted,

you had a real good look about in your router settings?

I’ve changed the router to the BT homehub as the old one wasn’t supposed to be compatible with Vista, and it made no odds. I have had a look about on their site, and nothing there to help.

Thanks for your help, I don’t thin kit’s gonna work ๐Ÿ™

Did you get this working yet?

    Try this link …

    http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/publications/urg00976toc.jhtml?pq-path=14012

Select option 3, then the bottom link.

    Hope it helps
