November 13, 2006 at 9:25 pm #38789DivieParticipantGotta agree with messy, although I am a huge fan of the total war series so bit of a forgone conclusion for me :P, there are a few bugs here and there, but with a patch already due in one or two days (EA take note pls! 😀 ) these should be smoothed over, and the graphics, and fight sequences are simply amazing, porb gonna be on this for most of this and next week 😉
November 14, 2006 at 10:33 am #38790sickofitallParticipantWell I was a bit disgruntled at the ridiculous attempts at historical accuracy but the bug that makes the enemy army stand there like statues whilst you waste them with archers was the last straw for me. For people who don’t have the game what happens is that you start a battle and at any given moment the CPU enemy will simply stop fighting, form up it’s troops and stand there doing absolutely nothing.
I don’t care if they fix this in a patch. I’ve seen some laughable excuses at PC games recently (Oblivion take a bow!) but churning out a game where the central idea is the tactical battles and then having the AI turn itself off at random moments is taking the piss in the extreme.
I’m off back to my PS2 again. At least the games are semi finished on that thing.

hmm monitors only for this one
November 14, 2006 at 12:29 pm #38792DivieParticipant@soia yeah the historical accuracy in these games could be likened to historical travesties like braveheart, or the equivalent of dragging nails down a blackboard for any history buffs. Hopefully it won’t be long until the realism mods start getting going, and the arhcery thing is also very irritating, as is the situations where you order a charge and only the front 2 ranks move leaving the rest scratching their arses and placing bets. Personally my biggest problem is when the pope threatens you with excommunication if you attack a certain faction, but leaves that faction free to attack you over and over and over
But these “small” 😛 problems aside all in all i’m quite happy with it, or at least prepared to wait for the mods 😀

No no no, you’ll have to wait years to use your binoulars ingame, but could work for 42 ? 🙄
December 3, 2006 at 1:49 pm #38794SuicideParticipantreally liking this; cant wait until the total realism mod is made for it 🙂
