newsgroups, alt binaries etc

Newsgroups all the way. Being a veteran myself I can vouch for it being the best with regards to speed. Ok so availability may appear limited especially if you are looking for a particular thing released moons ago or somesuch thing. But if you frequent enough newsgroups and make kindly requests then someone can always post it.
Giganews has to be the best newshost at the moment. Their file retention has gone up to 100 days and with grabit search and newzbin archive you can get what you are after. Not the latest software which some funny fuck has renamed his pr0n over (aka torrents P2P etc) 😉

http://www.shemes.com/ grabit(plenty of others to choose from but this one has a search engine)
other stuff like winrar and par2 are usefull tools for unzipping and fixing incomplete or corrupt posts which depending on your news server you wont need that often.
I still use emule for obscure as fek stuff every now and again but thats only when Im in the mood to leave my computer running for potentially up to a bloody week 😛
Oh and the last time I used Bit torrent I got some ghey trojan virus thingy that kept giving me casino popups and was impossible to get rid of without a reformat and that was just from one of their apparently best search pages! so nuuur

i have dl 900+ gig over the last couple of years from potuk and other private forums, i have NEVER had anything dodgy… not bit torrents fault if you dont know how best to use it 😉

private forums have their own tracker, so nowt dodgy gets put on

if anybody dl from iso hunt and the like….scan the fecking thing 🙄
