Well the sensible thing would be to make the maps free to all, but keep the new unlocks and other content to the booster pack owners. But thats unlikely.
‘Last but not least we strived to incorporate the booster pack with the original game. Rather than having booster pack players gather on one server and original game players on another we wanted to allow booster pack owners to enjoy certain parts of the new content while playing the core game. ‘
My reading of that is that booster pack owners will get to use the new unlocks on the existing vanilla maps (just like the Bf2 special forces exp pack). But it still means that running a mixed server will see half the people playing get booted when it switches to a booster map.
Still I live in hope. Go on EA – surprise us! 😉

And thats exactly why i’m shying away from buying the booster………..i’ve bought the others and enjoyed the few games i’ve played but its no fun when your on a full server one minute then the next game sees you flying around solo or sniping at tree branches because very few others have bought the booster pack…….me thinks EA made a bit of a feckup with selling the boosters, especially now that they must have some revenue stream from the in-game ads (once they appear), peeps are thinking why do i still have to pay for additional content when i used to get it free and now your also getting cash from ads in my game ???
I guess with the next BF game (if there is one) they will no doubt look at charging us to play online (on top of server fees)…….or maybe i’m just being cynical 😉January 22, 2007 at 10:53 am #43788 -
