ParticipantJust to let everyone know, there’s a FIFA 08 demo up on Live now.
It’s an improvement on 07 and far better than the abortion that was the PC demo.

ParticipantJust read that a PES8 demo is up on Live now for anyone who’s interested. At least you can compare it to FIFA now before they’re both out.
Unless you don’t follow football, so to speak.

ParticipantWell I got FIFA 08 yesterday and there’s no doubt at all that whilst it’s far from perfect it’s far better than PES8 – the demo of that was pretty shocking to be honest.
The only downside to FIFA 08 is that Martin Tyler and Andy Gray comment and talk utter shite all the way through the game. Absolutely 100% realistic on that front then.
** edit ** Oh and most important, first thing you do if you get FIFA 08 is turn the music off. Every song on it is “fucking bollocks”, that’s the technical term.

ParticipantAfter a weekend of playing FIFA 08 it’s the best football game I’ve ever played. Don’t think I’ll bother with Practically Everything the Same 8 this year, despite the fact that it’s the only football game I’ve bought since last century. It’s been well and truly overtaken by FIFA.
Jesus titty ‘kin Christ. Never thought I’d say that.

ParticipantTotally agree and I never thought I’d say it either but
FIFA08 is the shit… had a quick blast of professional mode which was great

ParticipantI’m not online on my 360 Insane. Not really looked into it but my understanding is that:
1) I have to have gold membership which involves me paying money to play online. Being that I’m tighter than a gnats chuff, this is not acceptable.
2) When I signed up for Live I spent 10 minutes trying to find an online name which wasn’t in use and in the end just gave up and let the xbox assign me a name, on the basis that I could change it later. As I might have mentioned before I was less than impressed when I found I’d have to pay to change it.The other problem is that my xbox wire isn’t long enough to reach from my xbox to my modem and I’m far too lazy to find a solution and far too tight to buy into all that wireless crap which will no doubt cost a fortune and knowing my luck with technology it wouldn’t f***ing work if I did it anyway.
Having said all that, if they do patch it so you can play 5 a side on “be a pro†mode then I’ll be tempted to sort it out – played PES6 for the last year controlling only one bloke and got quite good at doing it.

Participantah i see.. whats FIFA08 without online mode though! 🙂
I think thats where it shines, and I swear you can have a full team of be a pro mode with your mates.. I’m sure of it.. i know you can have a few, maybe not 5 a side though

ParticipantIt’s great offline, I knocked the Dog Botherers (Huddersfield Town) out of the mighty Johnstones Paint Cup. That’s far better than playing 15 people who all insist on being Barca online – particularly as I’m morally obliged to be Bradford City which would mean I’d lose about 15-0 every time.
You can probably play be a pro with your mates offline but I’m sure I read somewhere that they are going to allow people to play be a pro with up to 5 people a side on live, with the CPU controlling the rest of the team. They’re adding this in later, so they say.
