Participantyou could just press c to talk to just your team if you use push to talk……

ParticipantHow would that stop the folk on TS hearing me doofus?
Obviously I could come out of TS (or mute it) and just use the ingame chat – but bit silly doing that if I was the only one!
What I am saying is that you would need to sort out the comms as a team before the game starts.

KeymasterUnless your push to talk key in game is the same as the one you use for TS, the people on TS will not hear you, though it’s easy to confuse where the voice is coming from and your team may reply through TS 🙂
The exception to this is if All talk is on as a server option (as used to be the case on the Rats server for example), and this makes coordinating your team very difficult. Normally it will only be used on lighthearted servers where people are just having a laugh, but it can still be very frustrating when you actually want to play the game a bit, you’re losing, and all your team needs is a bit of coordination. This does my head in on some servers in TF2.
One solution is to setup a group whisper on TS, but this takes a minute or two, especially if you need to teach people how to do it.

Participantwho’s the doofus now Doc? Unless you have voice activated, your push to talk on TS can be set to anyththing, I have both on my new mouse so I can easily switch betwee teamspeak and in game, it’s how everyone else except Draco does it. 😛

Does this mean you’ve switched over from voice activation? I don’t know how we’re going to cope without the sound of each and every crisp munching away in the background (particularly when the joints have kicked in), the heavy breathing, or domestic arguments.
It’s a sad day 🙁

ParticipantLOL – you are still the doofus.
I have always had voice activation on – I think you know that. Only thing is I have it set to a level were you dont all have to listen to various unpleasant sounds coming from me as per Matts description of you Paddy! 😀

That’s right Paddy, the sound of Doc strumming away on his guitar from slightly too close to his computer on Saturday night, was much more pleasant than the usual sound of your munchies, including his singing 😀

Is this a good price?
Is it a good game?
I am trying to get back in to PC games, but finding it really difficult!!

KeymasterYea that’s a good price for it atm, and yes it’s worth getting at that price. There are games of it every night involving someone from XDC, and plenty of rats play it too. For me I wouldn’t really consider it a show piece PC game, but it is highly enjoyable and you will get your money’s worth out of it at that price.
It is also the perfect game for late night drunken laughs.

ParticipantBugger, I got it from Gameplay about 3 weeks ago and it was 25 quid. Still, it was worth it back then anyway.
There’s currently 5 XDC’ers playing it Turks so you should get some games going at some point. Having said that, joining random games is far better on this than the first one anyway. For some unknown reason, there seems to be far fewer planks playing this game.
