Cant believe they pinched the idea off Frontlines, mind you, they pretty much cloned the BF franchise ๐
Oh and a Preview here –

Note the above is based on 360, other formats may vary in terms of gameplay ๐

the guys behind frontlines were the guys that did a lot of work on BF2, so its not surprising there are similarities
January 15, 2010 at 10:09 am #73762To0THBRU5HParticipantFrontlines was really good, but control wise it was too clunky ๐

They did the mod DC for BF1942
I played frontlines, thought it was utter balls, granted I dont think I played the MP version though

January 23, 2010 at 10:59 am #73767AlzirKeymasterGame’s available to prepurchase now on Steam for รยฃ34.99. I haven’t checked other outlets.
January 26, 2010 at 8:00 am #73768AlzirKeymasterAnyone else thinking about preordering this, and therefore definitely getting in on the beta? i figure I’m getting it anyway, so might as well get in from the start.

Just a word of warning there seems to be an uproar at the moment with regards to pre-orders and early access to the beta. I pre ordered mine through Game for xbox 360 recieved a mail yesterday stating the following:

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your email.
The developer of the game has advised us that the GAME Exclusive one week demo access (due to start on the 28th January) is now no longer available.
However, don’t worry as you will still get a full 3 week access to the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Demo via Xbox Live or The Playstationรยฎ Network from the 4th February 2010.
To access the demo from the 4th February please login to you Xbox Live or PSN account, search for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and follow the download instructions. No code is needed as it is now a public demo. Please keep an eye on our site for future updates.
Unfortunately the ‘Beta Key Access’ codes are no longer being offered with pre-order of this title here at GAME as the BETA has now ended.
Please Note: For technical Support please visit: EA Support
We apologise for any inconvenience this change may have caused. If you have any queries regarding your order please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Regards,
Chris P
The Team at GAMESo either retailers are dangling a carrot to get you to pre order or EA/DICE have misled people in their advertising. As you say not much of a drama for me as I was going to get it anyway but it still takes the piss either way.
January 26, 2010 at 12:20 pm #73770AlzirKeymasterI suppose I’ll look on the steam forums, but that just seems to refer to the console betas, which have been in progress for quite a while already. The PC beta I would imagine is different, but in any case, early access to the beta is the only reason I feel like ordering now, rather than getting it in a couple of months anyway. I’m just wondering if there’ll be anyone else doing the same to maybe link up with (assuming it all works out)?
January 26, 2010 at 12:27 pm #73771AlzirKeymasterFrom the BC2 blog site:
We have seen a lot of really good feedback on released details of BFBC2 PC and have been gathering these and sharing them with the PC Dev team. We also want as much feedback as possible after you have played the Beta to really give us the most solid feedback possible to look into addressing. Your participation in this Beta really counts and we’ll have another update soon with the official location to give your feedback!

January 26, 2010 at 12:35 pm #73772AlzirKeymasterI’ll figure out a better way of linking this later when I’m not on remote desktop, but the first post on the BC2 blog is about the squad rush mode, which I can see becoming on the the competitive modes, and considering the numbers of players involved, it looks very compatible with the pickup system used in other games like COD4 and TF2.
