Hi guys, ToM here. I know it’s been a while but hopefully you’ll remember me.
Me and few guys have formed a little known clan called 1st Tactical Assualt Group and we now have our own server running the awe4 mod.I know you have your own servers, but if you fancy a change consider this an invitation to come and join us for an arse kicking 😛
Our new server IP is: 195.242.236.137:28961
The current map rotation is as follows, some you may well be familiar with, others not so much.
I have included screenies of the maps I think you may not have played on yet:backlot 2 (expanded version of the original backlot)
balakan ( a massive map that I think rocks, reminds me of some of the larger old abandoned industrial estates here in Leicester, but with no mosques )
breakout 2 ( a beautiful map, needs to be seen to be believed)
burg (a large fully accessible castle situated in the most detailed grounds I have ever seen – I love this map, you can spend an hour wandering around it and still find new stuff)
forlorn ( a medium sized town map, well done and ideal for small scale battles)
twin 2 (you should all be familiar with this map by now)
Village (again one you should be familiar with but like twin a joy to play on)To save you downloading from the server via the game (which can take ages) you can download all the maps from the current rotation here:

Obviously you can download in game, but some of these maps are huge and you can spend a good 20 minutes downloading each map.
Hope to see some of you on there soon. We have removed the ability to have grenade launchers and martyrdom switched on and anti bunnyhopping software is on as well. So if these things annoy you then you’ll feel right at home.

We were on tonight from about 8.30am to 9.30pm
TBH, it’s a bit random.
We’ll often message each other when one of us fancies a game, play untill we get bored then wander off again
If anyone joins the server, we’ll generally stay on untill the server empties.
Your best bet is add me to your xfire and if you see us on and fancy a game, come and join us.
Looking forward, which maps were you having trouble with?
I had a problem getting on burg myself tonight. I had a corrupt iwd error, but I was playing on it last might without any trouble.
I think the trouble could be, some of the maps are still in the beta stage and as such creating problems.
So far though, we have only had trouble with the burg sporadic iwd error, which is a shame becuase the map is really, really good.
If you let me know which maps you had trouble with I’ll re-upload the maps tp the download page incase they got corrupted in some way.
Don’t give up though nom, it would be great to see some of you guys on there.
We’ll be visiting your server over the next week most probably to see which maps you’re running. Just noticed you have backlot 2 running which is a good one.

Just as a follow up to this, it looks like my file structure was a little off. It’s sorted now though, so should okay. Also the latest version of burg was released today which I’ve just updated so you may need to re download that one 😀
How do tom, LTNS.. assuming your the Tom from MP days? I recall mooching around on the rooftops of a desert town in DC with a TOM.. good days
I’ll give it a go once I get a new PC, sold my existing gaming rig the other day to me mum 😆
so i am PC less at present 🙁

Hi mate, I was indeed known to be mooching around rooftops in DC on more than one occasion 😀
Although, back then I was quite into choppers and the occasional tank as well.They were indeed, good days. Alot of the players from around then seem to have got lost in the lands of world of warcraft these days.
I havent heard from King Dave for ages. H Seldon appeared on the Hussars TS about 4 months ago briefly but then dis-appeared again. Mind you haven’t been on their TS for several months myself since forming 1st-TAG and getting our own 😛
TBH, guys, steer clear of our server untill I give the nod, because I’m having a spot of bother with the re-direct folder at the moment.
I’m going to spend the afternoon trying to sort it and I’ll let you know if I’m successful.
I’ll get back to you soon and hopefully we can get together and have a game over the weekend 😉

Yeah a lot of the MP guys are still playing Warcraft , Madhippy plays WoW, as does Minty and the other usual suspects.

I’m pleased to report, my work is complete 😀
I had made two errors.
1/ I for some reason didn’t type in the www part of the redirect address
2/ The redirect folder was in the directory above the public_html folder not in it 🙄
So it’s no surprise really that things weren’t really working as they should have been.
Anyway, i have just tested all the maps. All now work fine. I have been getting download speeds of 500 KB/sec with maps downloading in a few minutes or so obviously depending on your connection 😀
So unless you have a slow connection, you should be able to join the server with only a short delay without downloading the maps before hand.
As I said earlier, my Xfire is ToM6666, I’ll have a scout arounf your forum see If I can find yours so I can start stalking you
Let me know if you get any more probs, but I don’t think you will
