ParticipantJust wondering if any of you played Anno 1404? It’s a great strategy game with trade abd pirates and boats and things… And the expansions has an MP mode which I olimagine would be awesome (in a long winded, small chance of reaching overall goal type way!). I have a *cough* trial copy, but would be up for getting the real deal if any fellow buccaneers are out there! Be warned though- games take Hours to complete!
Google it- the graphics are totally amazing!

Just Cause is rather shallow… while the graphics are pretty sweet, the physics and gameplay are lacking. Fact

Errrrr… just realised it is basically the same as my job – managing supply chains! Its kind of like Settlers – you harvest materials from different islands, using different buildings, and trade and stuff… the similarity to my job ends with the production of battlships to kill all the other players

Have you got it? I liked the demo but got bored quickly… do the missions get more interesting?
It all seemed a bit samey – like farcry 2

I thought Just cause 2 looked a bit shallow as well, and was surprised you were raving about it Mike, given your criticism of TF2 for being unrealistic ;). I can see the parachute game being a good laugh for a while, but it would get old quick I think. I’ve not tried it though, just my impression from the videos on your thread, and adverts on TV.

ParticipantSure have got it
tbh missions are a bit samey (Ish) not all though but its beyond that.. its about doing what the feck you like with your stuff.. and just exploring the unbelievable size of the place, its like going on holiday in your front room.. its gorgeous
And re TF2.. I believe I mentioned Cartooney as part of the I dont like it because bit.. this isnt cartoony, yeah its ott but fun none the less.. flying a 474 around is breathtaking.. hooking a bloke to it and watching him flap around makes it fun
I play it more than BFBC (but not as much as FIFA10) .. I’m in a quandry with that, I just cant get into it anymore.. I dont know what it is but I might get rid of it soon.. I think its the controlling aspects of the game (had same thoughts when I played it on PC before you start) They just dont feel as good as say MW2 (on console).. but thats a fecking annoying game too, too many rocket launchers and nade launching nipples on it last night.. argh.. I think i’m having a midlife gaming crisis.. Strole on Read Dead Redemption and RO.HOS

ParticipantWhy dont you get it on PC? Been playing lots with the Rats recently and its quite fun (although fucking frustrating sometimes!)

ParticipantToo much effort and the frustrating bit puts me off.. and nothing beats online MP more than FIFA10.. which is why I probably dont play BFBC2 much 🙂

ParticipantI’ve got 1404 – would be up for some MP at some point.
not what I’d call a quick game though 😉
