Well, I’ve done some investimigation and have come to the conclussion that EA are at fault (or at least are the main culprits). Basically my board was a stop-gap so I could do a slow transition from AGP + DDR, to PCI-E and DDR2, which it seems to be doing admirably, with the exception of the latest BF series.

Oh dear, I fell ito the same agp to pci-e trap and went with an asrock dual 939. Legit is right, it sucks, I should’ve splashed the cash at the beginning and would’ve had a rocking system, now I’m stuck with this till I go intel core 2 duo route
I had horrendous agp(ati x850) and PCI-E(ati1950pro) performance across all games till I downloaded and installed all drivers from their website and installed them. With the agp it was definitely an agp driver for the mb that fixed it, not too sure what it was for the Pci-e

Heh I am buying this board soon and read some very good reviews on it and they compared it against the intel chipsets and it did really well. The PCI-E slot is a bit crippled, but didnt cause much in the way of perforamance loss except at high resolutions where the extra bandwidth will be an obvious advantage.

I had problems with it, but I think it was down to the extra hardware I used with it rather than the board itself (which seemed to be the obvious culprit).

Performance wise it’s not a mobo I’d buy as a basis for a brand new system, but as a way of gradually upgrading an existing machine to DDR2 or PCI-E, and if you’re on a tight budget it’s damn fine.

well I have an AGP graphics card so the slower PCI-E slot is not really an issue and the reviews i read of this board are quite good.
