Fucking game!
I bought it the other day knowing that I had to register it on the net when I installed it… no problems says I… I will use my pocket PC as a modem to do that bit (I dont have a 56 K modem on the desktop and broadband is still a work in progress.)
But no… the feckers who designed the game FORCE YOU to download a big patch during installation… you cant just register the game and download the patch later.
I was so pissed off… but decided to just download it anyway (costing about a tenner in data fees 😯 ) Once this was done it promptly crashed and left me back at square one….. having to re download the whole thing!
Poorly thought out piece of shit installer…. its enough to drive you to piracy!

Overated toss? Unless i read this bit wrong, its based on the installer / patch, not the game play itself.

i hear you insane – but it gets 95% / 10/10 in the mags… must have something going for it?
TBH I was most interested in its interpretation of ayn rands political philosophy… Id buy a game just for a good story that makes you think regardless of how good the shooty shooty action is.
If I had known it had this god awful copy protection on it I would have thought twice though.
Its always the same… the freeloading pirates always get through the protection – but the people who buy the game (like me) get screwed over by the stupid security systems.
So BioShock was based around Ayn Rand’s philosophies? I might have to check it out.
But back to the anti piracy stuff:
Whenever I put on my season six Simpsons DVD I have to sit through that “You wouldn’t steal a car. You wouldn’t rob a bank. You wouldn’t hijack a plane” anti-piracy advert. I can’t skip it so I have to watch some OTT piece of propoganda BEFORE I can watch my legally purchased DVD. How many people who downloaded the Simpsons have to sit through that shit?
Oh and before anyone even thinks about illegally downloading movies or TV shows, remember that piracy is a crime and can be used to somehow fund terrorists or drug dealers.

Downloading is excellent.
Be good once the new series of Battlestar: Galactica is back on and Stargate: Universe will be starting next year and Stargate: Atlantis has been picked up for a 5th series next year 🙂
