I was on TS yesterday between 6 and 7.30, but my bloody mic doesn’t work when it’s plugged into my onboard sound card. Or it does but so quiet that only Steve Austin’s bionic ears can hear me. So I could hear Wipers and Signal going walker huntin’ against a particularly annoying armour whore, but I was on a different server.
And did I rock on that server? Yes I did.
I was playing a game of XDC grade excitement that we eventually won 2-0, so it was real edge of the seat stuff. But my moment of glory came during a tense standoff on Gibraltar at the chokepoint between the ruins and the central base. The enemy had a walker stood at the entrance gunning down our troops as they poured out of the central camp, but couldn’t advance further due to some motion mines I’d laid across the entrance. It was a deadlock at the bottleneck, so yours truely climbs onto one of the walkways and runs around behind the walker and then jumps down as a sniper starts taking shots at me and the AA gunner on the walker lets rip. Knowing I’m about to die I chuck down my last motion mine and try shooting the walker’s vents with my Turcotte.
However, both of the muppets in the walker jump out and try to shoot me, clearly having heard the mine warning sound. So I jump in and start shooting. CARNAGE!!!!!
I’m stood in a walker behind about a dozen enemy troops with their backs to me and it’s like fish in a barrel.
Then I had to go shopping with the wife.
So sorry I didn’t say Hi yesterday to Dodge, Wipers, Signal and Itchi, but I was too busy shopping and pwning.
Can we at least burn him a little bit for this naughtyness? Could have said hello to me as well 😯

I’m not sure about Demi. There’s something ‘reanimated’ about her that I’m not quite sure about. Plus Bruce Willis would be turning up without any notice and probably just walking in on us doing the horizontal rhumba and say stuff like “Hi Demi. I need you to look at our kids school reports.”
That’d be a mood killer.
That stellarium is a cracking peice of software. I’d been using an old copy of starry night which you have to buy, but stellarium looks great.
I think you’d be best off with a decent pair of bino’s with a steady tripod. Like you said, if you get fucked off with it, they’ll come in handy somewhere down the line.
Like i said, you’ll get very good lunar views, you “might” just be able to make of stuff like saturn/jupiters moons, but don’t forget to check out the deep space stuff like the pleiades ( follow orions belt, just to the right of Mars). I have a South Westerly facing garden, and i still get the bino’s out on a nice night. It was a bit of a fuck around setting the scope up on freezing nights, letting it cool down to ambient temperatures. You have to align the scope correctly, as the high magnification means that stuff like jupiter and saturn move pretty fast thru the eyepiece and you are constantly having to keep the scope moving to keep them in the centre of the eyepeice, so it’s not a scope you can get out just for a few minutes, the tripod and counterbalances must weigh 50-60lb’s and the scope itself stands at chest height to me and 8″ in diametre.
When we eventually move, i’m definatly moving out of the city and i’ll invest more time and money in it. The scope i have is really a nice bit of kit, but to get the best out of it you really need dark skies and a couple of 12v motor drives.
