COD4 punkbuster problem (and why don’t we have a cod forum?)

It’s been ages since I’ve had a game of COD4 but today I decided to have a wee bash at it but ran into a problem with punkbuster. Any server I join I get kicked after 10 secs by pb, so I do the old pbsetup thing, update etc (my version matches other peoples), but I still get kicked. This happened to me the first time I played as well, and I remember mucking about with a million things and it suddenly started working, but I just can’t remember what it was I did (though I think it was something really simple). Anyone else had this problem and maybe know the solution?

Oh and surely it’s time we had a COD forum?

Hi Alzir, I think I saw you trying to join our server earlier and then leave, now I know why 😀

I am probably barking up the wrong tree here but have you got Vista?

If you have you may be updating the pb folder in your C:program filesactivisioncall of duty 4 – modern warfarePb folder

When you should be updating the pb folder in your C:usersyournameappdatalocalvirtualstoreprogram filesactivisioncall of duty….etc etc Pb folder

The appdata folder is hidden so you will need to select show hidden folders in your folder options section before you can see it.

If you haven’t got Vista then I really don’t understand why it wont let you in. Maybe you could remove that wall hack or something

I got it fixed eventually, I just used pbsvc to reinstall punkbuster and that sorted it out. I don’t use vista but thanks for the response tom, maybe your suggestion will help someone else someday.

Next problem, how do you play that bloody game, I’m seriously shit at it 😆

Don’t look at me mate, I’m been trying to figure that one out since I bought it in October

Best way to play is the old run round like a headless chicken killing every one. Its worked for me!!!
