* Note * This is to play Backups of games i own only * Note *
Hello there, i think someone on here , or maybe more, have it so there xbox 360 can play burnt or backed up games, ive been looking into this, and by my understanding – u have to flash your Xbox 360’s DVD drive, i no what type i have, its the Toshiba-Samsung – so id need the Firmware for this type of drive for my xbox 360 right?
I have seen this:
Click MeDo i just plug a USB drive into this with the flashing software on it?
Thanks.

Although this guide should explain everything if you still want to flash the firmware 😉

Also, yes, opening the case will invalidate the Warranty, etc etc, and Xbox live isnt picking up on the latest Ixtreme firmware which stops backups which are not correctly patched from booting – but obviously, it may change in the future, as it has done in the past – but so far, that version is safe 🙂

I’ve had my samsung flashed for moons, I updated a couple of months ago to Ixtreme 1.2 and I’ve been able to play online, buy things from marketplace and download demo’s etc
October 9, 2007 at 6:47 pm #59771RyzoParticipantyeah i hear the hitachis used to be a pain, so the samsung is all good, yeah i wanted to do mine yonks ago however the live banning put me off, wasnt quite as secure or stealthed as current version, but with the latest Ixtreme uv got more peace of mind that u wont lose access to live, may get another 360 just for the purpose of flashing and modding out,
October 9, 2007 at 7:57 pm #59772XDCiNSANEParticipantHitachis are still a pain.. that last flash was fine, it only became unfine when microghey decided to ban people, up until then it was great.. Ixtreme is fine, until microghey decide to ban people using that, then another one will come out and it will carry on and on and on etc etc
Its a vicious circle
October 10, 2007 at 7:51 am #59773RyzoParticipantoh for sure, thats why im considering just getting asnother and setting up an account with that and enjoying back ups with that, surely – if you are actually souly using back ups – does it still break the terms and conditions (ignoring the warranty) – or does it just not fringe the copyright laws but still effects the T&C’s with ur 360?
October 10, 2007 at 9:13 am #59774XDCiNSANEParticipantlmao.. F off with your backup talk! As if you’d shell out near £300 to play backups of games you already own when you could just play the original game on your none flashed console
you have the right to own a backup of your game and play it, but that wont stop you being banned from xbox live if you are caught with a flashed box.. if thats what you meant…
October 10, 2007 at 9:59 am #59775RyzoParticipantI only used the original back up term to prevent any problems on the forum, i.e. future Legits.
And yes.
October 10, 2007 at 12:19 pm #59776XDCiNSANEParticipanthehe I was going to ask to put this in the private forums for that reason alone
you should do it.. now!
and ok
