How Can I Get My CD Key?

Went to install the game again last night but noticed a lack of CD key. This is what happens when you’re running low on roach!

ANy ideas? Brought the game in the shop, not EA ghey loader although I got NS via that.

The CD key came on a card piece inside the box. Haven’t got that n’more. All that’s in the box is a EA Games thingame. Not on that.

if worse comes to worse, try finding a ‘keygen’ for the game, generates you a key to use.

yeah it will, it depends on what keygen you use, some blast out the same used keys, some dont, it depends how many keys theyv got and how often its been used,

providing you haven’t deleted the registry details for the game, i think the key is stored in there somewhere………shall take a peek in mine and see what i find for you…………now if its a fresh install after a complete format then i guess your fubar’d 😛

Wet: It was a fresh install on a formatted drive so you could be right with your FUBUR reply 🙂

The only thing I was thinking, because I brought NS via EA downloader would it not have my 2142 key stored somehow? Clutching at straws really I think. I might try the keygen way just seems crazy there isn’t a way to get mine back as I’ve brought the game.

Do not use a keygen on this game trust me. You can contact EA Customer Services to see what they say the may be able to look at you EA.Com Login details and retrieve your CD Key Info that way. Also did you register the product with EA when you bought it as that should help verifiy your identify and authenticity for the product.

The key is stored in the registry but it’s ‘hashed’ (i.e. ooer00fgrsdfnskldtjkl754gdf78) rather than a readable string, the idea being that its then harder to steal from someones PC.

OMG EA Support actually helped. Pointed me in the direction of my CD key. Now all I need to do is to patchup and off I go 🙂
