Late night platoon with 2CA

I was kept up late last night thanks to a damn good platoon run by the outfit I’m a member of on our Terran server (called 2CA), and I thought I’d throw the session together into a video for their forums which I’ve put together today. I’ll do that, but since I’ve been struggling to get across to you guys what this game is all about I figured I might as well post it here as well, for anyone mildly interested in seeing what a session is actually like, especially one where true teamwork is involved.

Any videos I’ve posted before on this game have either been compilations or short passages of play which are comparable to passages of play in BF games, but it’s always frustrated me as I can’t quite show the full depth of the game in something like that. In this video you might see a broader range of what actually goes on though, as our platoon is directed across the continent towards our eventual objective, while command channel is used to coordinate with other platoons aiding each other’s effort on a strategic as well as tactical level.

The video is longer than usual and hasn’t been edited with action in mind, showing instead the build up to a fight between two factions going for the same target, with particular focus on the platoon leader’s commands which organise us in an eventual fight against more or less two to one odds. If it’s only action you’re interested in, you can skip to that fight about 14 minutes into the video (I didn’t check this precisely btw) and towards the end there’s a pretty decent MAX crash which we attempt in a last ditch attempt to save a flag.

This is all shot from my perspective, which means I can’t quite match true 1080p quality, plus youtube lowers quality anyway, but it’s not too bad. You may also appreciate my attempts to keep to the XDC tradition of friendly fire incidents during crucial moments towards the end 🙂
