Surprised nobody’s posted something on this yet, but what do you all think of this L4D update? I had a good few games last night with the rats and crazy hippo, and we managed to work out some good plays for a couple of the survival maps (finally got that gold on drains John 😛 ) , but damn it’s hard. Anyone got any good strategies for it yet, or any tips they’d like to share?
I still haven’t tried the versus mode, but I did notice some good changes in the patch log, in particular the smoker will now catch survivors through a mass of infected, and assuming I read it right the hunter’s damage bonus while on fire has been removed.
Really wish more XDC had this, because one or two more would allow us to put together a proper team for it. It’s a perfect game for us as well, mixing skill and laughs in a way we’ve not seen in a game for ages, if ever.
Actually probably am desperate to take this place back from all the console bollocks. Plenty of rats playing this, and wish we could muster the same numbers.
glad to hear you gold the gold medal on that sewers map Matt, it was hard enough just surviving 7 minute 🙂
i will be up for some games over the weekend especially on the new versus maps.
Oh yea definitely up for more versus, I’ve really only played a handful of games of it so far, but starting to pick it up. Any tips for using the Hunter btw? I’ve just about gotten used to pouncing, but 9 times out of 10 I’m getting shot off without doing any significant damage. I know you should ideally be coordinating with the rest of your team but even then it’s rare that I do anything useful with him 😕
try and pick off people who run off by themselves or lag behind, any extra second you get to do damage is a bonus.
Also wait until the survivors are distracted, horde or being hit by a boomer. Boomer bile is great because it will obscure the view of the survivors so you will be able to keep someone pinned for longer.
