It’s only taken 2 months but finally I’m back online with a functional pc, and assuming I can kick the temporary champ man addiction that’s been keeping me entertained lately, then I’d like to try and pick up again where we left off with TF2 if that’s at all possible. I had a game on Friday night with Jim, and I’d forgotten just how much fun it is when you have some proper teamplay going on. The server we were on was only about half full but the two of us went together playing offence and completely destroyed anyone we ran into on 2fort and ran away with the game nearly every round 🙂 It’d be great to have more nights like it with more people, so if anyone’s playing tf2 and wants a team mate, give me a shout over steam and I’ll come along if I can. We don’t have a server anymore as a distraction, and I’d just like to get back to enjoying the game without worrying about anything else 🙂
The main thing that I’d like to get back to though is the TF2 team that was beginning to take shape around the end of August, and I’m wondering are the rest of you guys as interested? If memory serves me right, we had CH, Wiz, Max, Spunk, Bakura, and myself together for the game we had against Crazy, and all of us still play I think (perhaps not max since eve)? We also have Dutchman and Mugs who couldn’t make that game, but I’ve seen recently playing on steam and I’m sure would be interested, then there’s Jar and Queeks when timezone permits, and Wolf maybe? Anyone else, or anyone I’ve mentioned who wouldn’t be up for a few matches? If we still have a pool of 9 or 10 players that would allow me to organise a few friendlies, and I’ll get right on this once it’s clear we have enough still interested. The idea was and still is to make these friendlies regular, and I’m hoping this will also help inject a bit of life about the forums again!
Oh and on a side note, I’ve also downloaded Insurgency and gave it a quick try on Friday before TF2. It strikes me as a slightly better playing version of COD4, but I have a major mental block when it comes to games with no crosshairs and ironsights. I’ll perservere with it though, and next time I’ll check TS before I play rather than afterwards like on Friday 🙂 Hopefully with a few tips from the experts and some teamwork, then I’ll be able to get into it a bit more. I think nom said you guys were or were about to join some league somewhere, and that’s the kind of thing I want in on, although I’ve a long way to go before I’m good enough at it 😳
yes i’m playing in a ladder and league for The OC Insurgency clan, Gra plays on the servers occasionally and Dazz plays a lot but is not interested in clan play at the moment.
good bunch of lads in the same vein as XDC, but to my suprise we have tactics for clan games 😯
we have a massive regular base of players, with no idiots, so you get good quality play most of the time, plus i can ban/kick any nubs that spoil the game.
exceedingly hard to get into, as most maps (push) involve marines attacking and insurgents defending, makes for dieing a lot as marine (my favorite) as a newb you spend most of the time dead and we loose a lot of new players because it is damn hard, but those that stick around find it very rewarding.
if you see me with a pistol (M9)…. you die, my fav weapon in the game, i throw away my m16 and play with just my pistol.
quality game if you put in the effort and at some stage it will be porting to the orange box 8)
